No 21:9
Of course, as expected. At this point I'm not even disappointed.

I will not buy another of your expensive games if you keep being ignorant about other aspect ratios than 16:9. I don't care that Japanese people play mostly on consoles. You're releasing your game worldwide and you should meet worldwide technological standards.

Even smaller Japanese devs as Falcom can support 21:9 ratio, but poor Atlus can't.

P3R and SMTV are Unreal Engine, Metaphor is on their inhouse engine, so it may not be that simple. I wouldn't be surprised if 21:9 mangles some of the UI as well. A shame, but that's just the 21:9 life I guess.
Looks like he just dropped one but like you said UI is messed up for now but a work in progress! https://github.com/Lyall/MetaphorFix

Durr durr.

Next time just don't bother posting at all if you're not only to just troll, but be illogical about it too and embarass yourself. And you are both ironically whining and getting triggered over something that has nothing to do with you.

I don't get people sometimes.

By the way champ, 99% of engines already natively support ultrawide. Devs go out of their way to turn it off or not turn it on. It's simply laziness or imcomptence, period. That is literally why ONE MODDER can have it back on and working in LITERAL hours.

i can see i upset you... perhaps you should drag this window to the far, far, farrrrr side of your monitor and use it as a black bar

Instead of squealing when backed into a corner, just be an adult and have the decency to apologize, bow your head, and walk away.

It will look a lot better, trust me. But regardless, you're welcome for showing you what reason and logic look like. I'm sure they are foreign concepts to you.

Like I said, 99% of engines already natively support ultrawide merely by how modern engines are designed and how they handle scaling.

The ones that don't tend to be ancient zombified engines forcibly used still.

This is honestly pathetic. Native ultrawide should be standard by now. Atlus lost a sale.

Not even Space Marine 2 has it.

Actually it does support ultrawide

Everyone cares except most japanese devs. And ironically, it's you people, who defend greedy and lazy developers, that are the worst and most toxic in gamers community. Your post just proves this.

Valid critique = crying. That's a point of view worth of corporate shill.

According to the Steam hardware survey, around 3% use a 21:9 display.
In other words, a very negligible group.

The update should be out as of today, much like they were working on Steam Deck support in a patch.

OK you get the idea.

Would prefer native wider aspect ratios so we aren't stuck in 16:9 which is basically today's 4:3. But there is no issue using 16:9 on a ultrawide, the other way around however.... yeah once you've gotten used to actually using more of your peripheral vision it's a bit annoying to go back several years in immersion.

Just from a logistics and forward-compatibility standpoint, hardcoding resolution options and UI stuff is generally not a good practice.

There are ways that you can still mask the sides for fullscreen elements that weren't designed for it, and in the context of cutscenes, there's already established ways of handling those. There's also ways that you can test different resolutions and aspect ratios without actually having a test lab full of different sets of display hardware, so I don't really buy 90% of the excuses people make for things that just work on western games.

The biggest issue that I would see in the context of this game are the UI elements. NISA, Sega (outside Atlus and Sonic Team), and PH3's ports are ahead of the curve in this regards.

All 21:9 users combined make up 4% of just the Steam market. I'm gonna go back to ignoring the tantrum just like I do for Mac users.

No do the same for high end GPUs and 4k and so on.

Maybe we should just cap games at 1080p and 30 FPS, since they remain dominant if we include console players?

But imagine the kind of person you have to be to swagger into a thread that has absolutely nothing with you to make an announcement that only draws eye-rolls and then say something illiogical with a smirk on your face without realizing that people aren't laughing WITH you.
