To buy or to wait...

I would like to jump on the hype train but I have no desire to buy the game twice when the extended version will be released in a year or so. Are there any announcements about whether this will also be available to buy as DLC? Thank you in advance for sharing your knowledge with me. *_*

if there were any you would already know. and yet I think extended version(if it will be developed of course) will be available only 3-4 years after, so it's your choice to wait or buy it now.

I don't think Metaphor will have an "extended" version like previous Persona games had.
I don't see them adding 2 different versions of the game on Steam because they wouldn't get away with that like they can with consoles.

The fact that Metaphor will be released worldwide on all platforms means it's most likely their only release for it (with maybe DLC in the future)

For example, if Persona 6 doesn't come to Steam day 1 when it comes out and it's only available for PS5 then that means it'll most likely get an extended version later which would be the one that'll come to Steam afterwards.

Hard to say honestly.

On one hand we have persona 3 reload with separate expansion on the other we have SMT V that got a re release on switch rather than selling the new story mode as DLC.

If money is a problem for you than I say wait till its at least discounted maybe after few months or a year so if a extended edition comes out you are not losing out completely.

Depends on the success of the game. If it sell more than a million copies then yes there will most likely be a directors cut version in 3 to 4 years.

Didn't Atlus come out and say they are moving away from putting out extended versions of games after persona 3 reload.

Atlus says they're moving away from re-releases, so take that as you will. I'm pretty sure it's just gonna be DLC from now on

I not touching it until they address the performance. That's if they can even fix it. The game's engine is ancient. You can actually see these issues in the gameplay they've already released. I haven't played the console demo yet, but I'm worried.
