I wonder what's going on here, but I don't play the games for graphics anyhow.
persona 3 reload and 5 did this very well.
dont get me wrong. games UI is beautiful. but functionally its a tad weaker than the persona games.
the games graphical design is giving fire emblem vibes.
(granted a lot better looking than fire emblem) but similar design.
I like it. but agree having the cell shading apply to the world would make it all pop more.
P3R was using UE5 while Metaphor is using the same engine as P5 which is why it does not have the same graphic quality.
Why they do that is not something I can answer but its possible the game was in development for a while and porting it to UE5 right now would take way to long or they simply wanted to focus on gameplay and story rather than graphics allowing the art style to carry that aspect more than pure fidelity.
