What do you guys think about the difference in artstyle between character models and the environment?
This game, like Scarlet Nexus and a few others, has a cell shaded look for the characters and a more standard non cell shaded look for most of the environment. What do you guys think about that? For me it kind of feels jarring seeing the characters and the environment look so disparate from one another. I would have proffered the environments to be more cell shaded as well.

It's weird because the models really do look kinda low-res compared to Persona 3 remake.

I wonder what's going on here, but I don't play the games for graphics anyhow.

my only complaint thus far is that the actual informative UI bits are a little too blended in. aka the HP and MP etc in battle and all that kinda blends into the enviroment and thus doesnt easily convey information at a glance.

persona 3 reload and 5 did this very well.

dont get me wrong. games UI is beautiful. but functionally its a tad weaker than the persona games.

the games graphical design is giving fire emblem vibes.
(granted a lot better looking than fire emblem) but similar design.

I like it. but agree having the cell shading apply to the world would make it all pop more.

Yeah its basically fire emblem three houses style. Cell shades characters that look out of place in a non cell shaded world.

P3R was using UE5 while Metaphor is using the same engine as P5 which is why it does not have the same graphic quality.

Why they do that is not something I can answer but its possible the game was in development for a while and porting it to UE5 right now would take way to long or they simply wanted to focus on gameplay and story rather than graphics allowing the art style to carry that aspect more than pure fidelity.
