i got the mervhant class as my first new job i highly recomend getting it asap it becomes insanely easy to make cash which could in turn get you some expensive ignighters/magic items fairly earrly on i'm wandering around the necromancer dungeon trying to figure out how to fight the optional boss or open that locked chest and i have 100 000 coins the townside to doing this if your playing on hard you will be very weak for the miniature dungeon

The second you can overworld kill enemys in a dungeon you will earn about 400 money per enemy. After my first dungeon at lvl 25 i had about 100k suddenly.

increased item drop chance->any butterfly type enemy->free mana potions

any time i see that enemy type in a dungeon, i just throw the passive on my archtype if im running low on mp items

I leveled merchant just for the item drop, it really adds up keeping that equipped on one of your party members.

Make it inheritable. Combine with the Mage's MP reward for beating things up in real time. Put on thief with Steal (chuck on the HP regen for beating up enemies in real time if you've got it and have the slot unlocked). Laugh as NPC's attempt to tell you exactly how dangerous a dungeon is before you go in and literally mug the inhabitants.

AFAIK you can't make it inheritable. That is the special effect that only works for the main character and AFAIK those effects are not inheritable so you cant combine them, unless im mistaken and then I really need to check my skills tonight.

(Perhaps it changes and becomes possible farther in the game)

True, but what you can do is going Mage or Pistolero on MC and give the Archetyp the INherited increased Item Drop.
That alone is basicly enought to keep you always on Full MP/HP more or less.

However his Real Value comes with his "Throw Money at Enemys". Because its combinable with nearly every "Physic Boost Passive" in the Game, and it is basicly a Version fo "True Damage" ignoring stuff like "Resistance/Immunity" and so on.

So you can make Merchant basicly an All Time Use Fighter, who never needs to Swap out, because he will always do damage and Crit a lot, espacialy with a lot of Luck as a Stat on Top.

Money wise you'll not be wanting ever again. A dungeon in act 2 I went in with nothing just to see, about 2-3 hours later, 1.5 million and that wasnt strictly only sticking to merchant. Put the level 2 skill Lucky drop on the rest of the party too and you're laughing to the bank.
