Question for the gamers
I only played a bit of the demo, havnt played any persona games yet. Just wondering how "complex" the combat gets since i love turn based games with a bit of strategy, but at least in the early parts is was mostly brute-forcing with the flame spell. Since im not familiar with the devs does it eventually get at least pretty hard and "complex". Ty

Secondly, when it comes to most modern Atlus titles, they tend to have a gradual introduction for combat mechanics. From where I am, I've unlocked (or at least I'm pretty sure) most of the basic mechanics, and now it's a question of expanding on them, which I can tell is what will happen. I'd say more, but don't want to spoil.

Thirdly, if I had to classify it, I'd say it gets complex, but not overly so. It's going to come down to you figuring out skill combinations, and synergy combinations that work best for both your play style and how you'll need to adjust to tackle certain challenges. Beyond enemy weaknesses, there are other skills that will take the edge off the difficulty, but it's up to you to figure them out unless you pay informants which takes alot of the guesswork out of how to deal with more problematic enemies or bosses.

Lastly, never grind. Kill what's in front of you, yes, but if you avoid grinding, you'll find a decent need for forming a strategy.

Press-turn combat is one of the most acclaimed turn-based systems around, it does grow in complexity and nuance.

There's also a hard mode you can switch to at any time if you're craving a harder challenge.

I'm playing on hard and so far the beginning has been the hardest because I just can't stop grinding lol.

The hardest difficulty won't be available until NG+ though and I'm looking forward to it.

On hard it hasn't really been complex so far (end of July), you can win every fight relatively easily if you have the right archetypes and skills. I'm sure it will get more challenging until the end.

eventually you will have to actually consider enemies weakness, buffing, and even sometimes forcefully apply weaknesses to enemies to ensure its more then just a stall-fest
