i'll remember to save more often. i do it every safe room and cat location atleast. reminds me of me losing few hours of talking to npcs in bg3 since the autosave in that game isn't on a timer but seemingly travel/rest tied. so if you're just waffling around without quicksaving, you lost all of that.
Never trust autosave.
Neither but autosave is kinda your only bet in some situations. The game tends to fall into a loop of fight > figure out what the fight wants > struggle through/die and swap. The latter option is where autosave is important.
I also do the whole paying info for the dungeon beforehands to learn specific weakness. The best thing is having a varied party with many weapon types and elemental.
