Don't waste days on first dungeon!
So, probably a well know tip by now, but I however just figured it out now, and can't believe I wasn't doing this sooner to save days, for more important things like conversations and such.

Cathedral (the first dungeon), whenever I would run out of MP, I'd head back to town, to either look for a way to find/buy some MP potions, and or just refill it by ending the day.

I just got that "big brain" moment, where I wondered why the hell i was doing it, when the Mage Archetype restore Mana when you instant kill enemies outside of combat. Of course it'll take some time in order to do start doing this, but not that much time.

Basically in the first dungeon, if you're ever low on Mana, don't have any MP potions, and don't want to return to town. Simply swap to the mage class, and travel between the first two area's where the easy monsters are you can easily one shot. You'll run through both area's in about 3-5 mins, and regain 45 ish Mana every time you do this. And since the monsters respawn each time you travel bewteen zones, it's literally an infinite stock of Mana regen.

Not too sure how long this will last, or if it'll end up working during the later portions of the game, as I've yet to finish this dungeon. Just something that occurred to me. Too bad I didn't figure it out sooner. Better late than never I suppose.

This is a known trick in the demo.

I find just beating the mob again and again boring so I just return to town normally.

There's a point in the dungeon where, even if you've been doing some grinding (farming floors multiple times, keeping crystals alive for multiple minutes) the trash mobs will match your level so I'm thinking about doing this cuz no way I'm spending multiple minutes on fights that I can clear with 0 mp

Everyone knows about this and no one thinks it's a normal/fun way to play the game. The game isn't balanced around having to one shot dungeons so why do people insist on doing it? This passive is so incredibly tedious to exploit that I don't even bother.

I do it because I am obsessed with min/maxing, xD

But I TOTALLY get why people wouldn't want to do this.. It isn't the normal way to play and is incredibly tedious...

I used the trick to push to the very end of the dungeon just before boss, but opted to go home so I'd be fresh for the actual boss fight, and have an opportunity to stock some more items.

Beginner spells cost 4 mp a cast and there is like 40 dogs in that starting area so the MP passive is feasible plus there is a rest room right next to all the dogs so you can force respawn.

Tier 2 mage gets medium spells that cost 10 mp and a passive that gives either a percentage of your MP or 10 MP per turn so long as you have a buff up.

You can get a auto-rakukaja from the knight tree and slot it via inheritance or do what I do and wear the pants that give auto rakukaja. Boom every spell is free.

The problem with mage is that it's tiers are locked behind Gallica who is locked behind Story Progression.

Play the way you want though. Strohl is hitting things harder than me, he is just not getting us anymore turns.

Lol the story dungeons are a joke can be cleared like nothing, optinal dungeons more annoying but can be cleared too whit one run!

The exact same reason we cleared dungeons faster in Persona games, to spend the remaining days doing all the side content and conversations.

I'm confused as to how they even run out of MP in the first dungeon to begin with. Most of the enemies are vulnerable to blunt and drop in two or three hits if you just prod them. Only time I utilised MP abilities was against the few humans and the bosses, plus of course the occasional elementa.

If you are playing on hard that is clearly a big lie. If you play on easy / normal ur opinion doesn't count

Of course his opinion does count. My guess is that most player will play it on normal difficulty the first time.

If you clear the optional sidequests/dungeons/bounties you shouldn't even need to fight most mobs in story dungeons, they just die to your over world attacks. I personally play on hard, and coming up on the the 8th calendar month have not had to back out of a dungeon. I do fight everything that moves while exploring and try to find all items(besides the beetles).
