don't worry, you probably didn't goof too hard. archetypes give enough stats on their own to make them usable no matter who you put them off, even if they're not optimal.
Been making it work, and some of those drops are really nice, like a hit all enemies Fire item.
Thank you! I was hoping that the personal stats would give a bit of an edge, but not ruin your game if you spec incorrectly.
For the protag, I'm building him to be a Magic Knight/Crusader thing so I pump both STR and MAG, seems like a good thing to do.
I would recommend focusing on range and healing since the first 3 companions you get are melee focused with bad magic.
How important do you think endurance is, or the stat that helps you take less damage?
playing on hard, i personally didn't prioritize it too much. i have 36/8/12/12/9 as my base stats before gear/archetypes and i haven't been feeling any survivability issues. but maybe it's because on hard, i'm already getting 2shot by bosses regardless.
EDIT: Debuffing 2-3 times their stats down makes life easier when you get those skills and items
So it does help to invest in defense. However in the end what matters is how many hits it take you to die. There will be clear and obvious breakpoints but we really don't know what those are right now as the game is still very new. Someone will eventually work out "have this much for this boss fight to have this many hits to live".
I choose I have a sharp mind so it feels like my "random" stat increase tend to be mag more.
I picked up the Warrior archetype to see what stat bonuses I get. Strohl gets plus 10 STR and I get like 5/6 STR. I wonder if my beginning choice also affects stat bonuses from archetypes?
I've been putting stats into Mag / Luck / Str in that priority order. I sprinkle some points into Agility for defense as I feel endurance is not great. My idea is to be well rounded.
Kinda second guessing if I should have went into strength more. Also I have no idea how Almighty damage scales. Seems like it's Str / Luck (Merchant).
Critical and better item drop rate? I might start to invest in it.
