First dungeon woes
My characters are at Lvl 12-13, and I'm up against the Whiteclad trio, who are 16. I'm grinding mobs like crazy, but it's taking forever. Am I doing something wrong or is there somewhere else I should be leveling before going up against these goobers?

i mean the area right before them should be filled with easy zombies/knights, which you can fright to get extra exp

you can leave the crystal up and grind off of those, but you should be able to make it through without grinding. i beat them at your level on hard.

go to the optional goblin cave to grab some really good weapons to carry you, you do not even have to kill the boss, just grab the chests.

also do not forget to bless your weapons to make em stronger

lvl 12 is enough, I am level 12 to kill the bosses from that dungeon. Make sure you level up magician for element, healer for light magic, Try and Error to find the weak point> reset game> then put them into the Archetype before you challenge boss.

Last thing, position also important for strategy.

Have you gone back to town to identify all the random equipment you've gotten? Have you improved your wisdom to unlock equipment upgrades at the church? Have you done the "high level" sidequest outside of town? Level 12 is fine, since that's where I am, but you need to give yourself an edge unless you want to just grind it out.

Ok, now I'm a bit confused. Where do you guys find side dungeons and time to go to the church in all this? I've felt like I was on rails and I'm at the point where there's like 4 days of time before I apparently lose the game because the evil guy is going to become king due to a popularity contest.

you had..9? days to do the first dungeon once it frees you up, so you can do different stuff for 8 of them and go in on the final day fully prepared.

though you don't need to, people like to socialize first, then go in with the buffs it provides.

I mean, that's just it. It hasn't felt like i've been freed up yet. While the 'main' mission doesn't have a specific time set, everything else has been like 'you have 2 days to get there and we just wasted one on a wagon ride, now you're at the border fort, now you have 2 days to get back and rush through the mines, then it progressed on its own without freeing me, then it was the funeral, and now... well you see the spoiled text. Does it let up from that, or did I miss something I should go back and do?

all their games are time management, but goblins are only 1 day, like the maus is, so you could have done that first.

and all socializing is half a day, so you can do morning/night.

later on some things do take more time, but you also get more time too, ive gotten quests that have 23 days to complete before i miss them.

I think I might not be where you think I am yet, I barely just re-met Hulkenberg.

i have no idea where you are, my example was very early game first dungeon, though i did also bring up something from later on as well.

mine was pretty generalized a simple "a lot of people do social links/town stuff and save dungeons for later" kinda deal, which applies pretty much anywhere.

Have you been unlocking inherit skills? It really helps to start building around weaknesses, and having as many options on the table as possible, cause you can take your 3 turn economy and turn it into 6 or even just squeezing out on more can help a lot.

Also make use of Formation, you can during a fight move front or back row, so if you see attacks like X is targeting Front Row, put them all in the back and its an auto miss.

Ahh, that might be it then. I guess I was more curious about when it's supposed to actually free you up. When you said 'early game dungeon', I was just thinking of either the border fort or the mines at the beginning, since that's all I've played through so far.

the first time it opens you up should be not long after the mines, you gotta do some town stuff first, but it shouldn't be more then a few days.

if i remember right the next time you return to town it's gonna be like "X days until <thing i forgot" and once that count down is done you start getting free time

what goblin cave? I just did the cooking and medicine sidequest, and now I'm in the dungeon on day 2. I didn't see any other quests than the main ones
