Difficulty Balancing
Why is it, that every game, somehow can't balance difficulty properly? I have every enemy in the dungeon that the Grotesque Gupteros is in where I can just kill them with attacks outside of battle, level 16 team with pretty high ranks and 120+ in attack and defense, and the Gupteros still does 200 AOE damage and a normal strike for 150 every turn on hard difficulty, wiping my team out in 2-3 turns. Put a knight in the back row and taunt? Who cares, boss hits both rows with an aoe. Why have a row mechanic when 90% the monsters hit everyone all the time anyway lol. For an otherwise pretty amazing game, this is beyond frustrating that even though the ENTIRE dungeon is on farm status, I have to re-load my save since I'm not wasting a day being unable to kill the boss and finish the dungeon, when that should not be the case.

Did this fight on hard at level 14 with a warrior, knight, and seeker. If you're referring to his "frenzy" AOE that he charges up, what you gotta do is instead of blocking when he begins to power up, hit him with his weakness instead. He'll waste a turn trying to buff himself, and do an attack afterwards. Just keep your party's health at a good amount and you'll get it. It's pretty rough but I managed to do it after a few attempts.

It's not the frenzy one, I forgot the name but he has a normal attack that hits everyone. 90% of the time, he does the frenzy attack followed by that one, and even in the back row guarding he normally kills 2-3 people. I already figured out the issue, the game shouldn't let you go there before beating the cathedral lol.

To be fair, I'm 30-40 hours into the game and so far, Guptauros is still the most flagrant example of the boss being disproportionately more difficult than the surrounding enemies.

With the exception of one storyline boss that you "can" fight at that particular point, but it's honestly not worth it for the minor reward you get as you have to fight them later anyway.

This right here is all I am saying lol. I'm not saying the game is bad or it's too hard, it's annoying they let you go to the dungeon before the cathedral, fully knowing there is a pretty large chance if you didn't save before going you are wasting 2 days. Legit the only part of this game that annoyed me at all so far, and people are flying off the handle saying I suck or making up some other story/context lol.

I beat Gupteros in the demo on hard with a level 12 team, and that before even stepping into the Cathedral. You're in dire need of gitting gud, I believe.

On easy/normal, sure lol. Go troll elsewhere.

The strategy I used was Mage Protag, Brawler Strohl, and Mage Hulken. I had Strohl inherit Tarukaja which I used on the protag. I had my Protag equipped with Phantasmal Doll then spammed Blizza (medium ice damage) and was able to burst him down before I got frenzied. I was level 16 on Hard. My protag has all stat points dumped into Magic so a full glass cannon build though. Definitely can be a rough fight, I had to try several times before getting things to line up.

You're the one lacking reading comprehension. I played on hard with a level 12 team. JuSt ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ rEaD.

Plenty of people have already explained to you why you failed and what you should have done. The first NPC in the dungeon says that beginner adventurers often come to the ruins to train against the weak gobelins. The boss being harder and the mobs being relatively weak is plenty advertised.

My team was the same as the one you start with : Seeker, Warrior, Knight. I buffed my knight with the warrior through Tarukaja, I healed and did ice damage with the Seeker through inheritance form Mage, and I spammed the symbyosis piercing skill with my Knight. You don't even need more than one knight. And it's only ONE of the many valid strategies, as other players already shared their own.

In short, you're terrible at the game and don't want to learn. Use your brain, GIT GUD and stop whinning.

When it's charging hit it with Knight's basic attack, it stops the charge move.

It's not that hard on hard.

strategize better, you have infinite time to think about what you're going to do, check your skills, check your items, think.

It's a single player game, rather than get frustrated just cheat :)

Skill issue. This was a single attempt for me on hard using double Knights in front and a seeker in the back. Simply poke him with both Knights, no need for taunt. Have Seeker spam Cyc, preferably with MA boosted accessory when not on heal duty, inherited media just in case. The Knights, while not hard hitting, keep him on the back foot 95% of the time, and you'll melt his damage buff with repeated weakness hits. Done. Not hard. I didn't have ice since I didn't know he'd be weak to it going in, but Cyc did just fine for damage.

Dude above me has a pretty viable strat as well. Balancing is fine; you just have to adjust accordingly, and they've made it even easier than Persona/SMT by adding the informants.

Has nothing to do with that, read above since zero people have reading comprehension whatsoever and just want to talk ♥♥♥♥ lol.

That makes no sense tho lol
