How accurate is the IGN review regarding what it says about politics?
IGN's review contains this exact line: "This game heavily expresses its inherently progressive politics."

How correct is this? Because my finger is hovering over the buy button but I'm not in the mood for 80 hours of being lectured and talked down to.

That is not true. They endorse monarchy and nobility (if they are controlled by "good people"), The game is basically socialdemocrat (the other side of the coin is right wing capitalist, but both are pro-capitalism).

Which is basically the old "benevolent dictator" form of government. Theoretically the most efficient and flexible form, but finding someone whom power does not corrupt is like searching for a lake on the sun.

It's not out there for a Japanese game.

I don't think Japanese believes in democracy like the West, they believe in heroes leading the charge.

Not many western games show the outright racism against Asians like this game does.

Either Asians don't exist or we are just super friendly with the white protagonists.
This game showcases the racism that Asians actually face when they come to Europe or America.

Well, I live in the USA where racism is virtually nonexistent to the extent that people in my country will actually stage racism in order to make it seem like it exists. Like Jussie Smolette. In the USA, the supply for racism can't even meet the demand.

What are you twelve ?

Non existent???? Have you ever been to GA/NC/SC?

Your post is the epitome of naivety. Probably living off of mommy & daddys HYSA interest.

The political stuff in the game ain't real and does not reflect on real life. Also "progressive"? what does that even mean, especially in a game like this? You need to stop listening to these journalists, dude. They have been rotting people's brain for 11 years.

Yeah because clearly we NEVER get to hear the progressive perspective in modern entertainment
are you trying to say the message of "we should improve society somewhat" is one you don't agree with?

Beautiful attempt at gaslighting you did there.

It's not. Nobody should read game "journalists"' reviews. They clearly don't know what they're talking about. Unless you consider the desire for a republic, instead of an absolute monarchy as "progressive"! Also, there's no lecturing here. The acute alert towards woke garbage is understandable in the current day, but it may end up clouding judgement sometimes. I haven't seen anything thus far that I would consider woke in this game and I'm several hours in.

This is why societies are becoming more isolated, because people just want to stay in their own circle jerks. The internet has made that an easier thing to do.
You can search for any media you specifically like and/or caters to you.
You can anonymously comment whatever you want about anything.

Hate and anger are to easy of feelings to give into rather than being open and sympathetic.
I always wondered how successful being so closed off has really been for these type of people though.

it is. if you reach the part that they are trying to gain the approval of people by participating to a popularity contest

i member when video games about politics was thought provoking and made you question ur world view from multiple angles, like the first 4 MGS video games. not just pushed a single view of the world.

This game is definitely pushing multiple angles on why racism is even a thing, so don't worry.

It's not a lecture, it's a discussion.

It is not. there are multiple lectures about different point of views here, but then again you are only looking for one point of view so you might not like it

if you feel threatened by a video game having messages such as.. "racism is not good" then yeah you should skip this game and most video games in general actually, since apparently expressing basic human empathy is "preachy" and "being talked down to" now.. seriously the fact that you feel like the game is talking down to YOU for showing literal evil people being evil and racist is an insane self report.. that is seriously not normal

i dont understand how society started going backwards to where people like this arent even ashamed to openly admit how racist or awful they are.. you were never even planning on playing this game in the first place you just came here completely unprompted to say this stuff too its crazy

I don't need morality in a video game. Most people don't. It's why GTA5 is the best-selling game of all time. I need escapism. Not to be barraged by the same tired, nanny-ish nagging messaging I have to deal with in every other form of media nowadays.

I don't need a video game to tell me what good or bad is.
