rework mage passive
mage passive just letting me regen my entire party's sp by running around for a bit and grinding weak mobs is a bit silly.
it just completely removes the need for mp items or mp management at all

what were they thinking

It's only viable in areas where you are already substantially stronger than the enemies, and it's only 1mp per enemy, and enemies can take quite awhile to respawn depending on the area.

I mean sure, it's still useful in certain situations, but I wouldn't say it trivializes things.

You control the buttons you press. Just don't do that if you don't want to.

1mp per enemy will be way too tedious outside of the first couple of dungeons

It is 'optional'. You do not have to use it...

It becomes unsustainable as you gain more MP and skills become more expensive. For instance, the Swordmaster gets a skill that costs 38 MP relatively early in the game. Unless you have no problem with running around for an hour to kill 400+ weak enemies to restore MP. You can spend time to create a food item called Magical Bread that restores MP to the party over time.

It's worse than Spirit and Energy Drain in every conceivable way.

i like to play around and experiment in video games and not doing the "optimal" thing that i can figure out for myself makes me feel like im handicapping myself, maybe im just autistic or whatever but it really bothers me

yeah, valid

its only question of time when people crate mods for mp recovery

play it more, and that trick will get tedious, although by that time you will get more OP archetypes

Honestly i dont see a problem. There is already a area with mobs that you can farm early on that drop 20 mp potions and if use a merchant type you will usually one drop of it per run so if you have the patient you can pretty cap on them and not worry about mp for a whole dungeon.
