Open world?
Hello everyone. Is this game an open world? Like the early Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest games ?

No and you don't manually explore the map at all but travel to set locations and doing so used finite time

And that's important because there is a (very generous) time limit for a few things.

they were still instanced areas, ultimately, having a overworld map to travel through to reach the area you gotta instance into is still not open world.

having an overworld map isn't the same thing as being open world. considering you have to instance into every fight, zone and area.

there is leeway for things such as buildings, like skyrim, but you can functionally walk from the west side to the east side of the map without instancing, you can do the same in ff15, but you couldn't in say, 7 or 8
