Healer's just bad?
Being weak to physical attacks sorta just invites full party wipes to just about anything past the first dungeon. It's a REAL big weakness.

its good to have for its passives, but probably shouldn't sit on it if your fighting enemies who do physcial yeah.

im not there yet but its upgrade might be better also, who knows.

I would imagine later on you gain access to skills and bond effects that can help you add "dodge slash" etc etc to lessen the downsides, or move the healer skills onto a less squishy role

also remember that Healer is the base archetype and the strengthened versions "may" not have the same weaknesses (this is me speculating since ive not got far in so far)

its the same as SMT weaknesses, you build your team to maximise strengths and shore up weaknesses
I know that the 2nd bond for party member 3 (red) sometimes has them take a hit if protag would be hit by weakness , which is probably the earliest method to shore up the weakness

to add onto this, some of the hybrid attacks are pretty good, group wide light damage can carry you pretty far in the first dungeon, which requires at least having it unlocked

Healer opens up AoE for your mage with synergy attacks REALLY early in the game, which can allow for some impressive damage for 12mp.

But yah that physical weakness can allow for some nasty beatdowns.

its probably not intendet to be kept in the party for long, thats why you get a quest to raise it high at the beginning.
you can raise the level for a while and just buy the healer skills you like/unlocked for your other classes

The Mahama synergy is extremely useful in the first main story dungeon, also offers multi-target elemental synergies when paired with the mage, which can be good early game. The Healer's basic attack can also hit for a surprisingly decent amount of blunt damage for a magical class.

Probably best to farm xp for it with overworld kills after being higher level or surprise attacks

healer has one of the best skills to inherit to other archetype though, the group heal is important in JRPGs like this.
