What does the Merchant archetype scale with?

Strength.

Skills often mention if they do physical or magic damage - strength vs. magic respectively.

Physical dmg - STR.

You dont need to min-max in this game. I maxed MAG and still did wild physical dmg at the endgame due to passives stacking.

merchant also stacks with luck as merchant is the only archetype to interect with crits well. Doubling chances as a built in passive of tycoon with dilligent student from brawler give very high crit chance, and +18/23 luck depending on when you look at it

focus on strength and luck, and don't neglect agility

I focus on luck now.

I go for luck with increased loot drop, though it is minor stuff, it does come in handy. The crits are nice, too.

For the record, don't focus luck for any reason. It's a pretty worthless stat and you don't really see much difference. That, and you get free luck from the toilet every Sunday anyways.
