Leveling archetypes is a chore
The amount of grind you need to put into leveling an archetype is absurd. Almost like I am playing an ftp MMO. It wouldn't be bad if powerful skills weren't tied to a group composition.
So in order for my mage to access AoE abilities I need to have a seeker in the party which deals 9 phys damage (basically useless) because I didn't figure out to level that archetype from the start.

They need to fix this. You may lock the abilites but at least bring the stats up to the highest level archetype the protagonist has. This game mechanic just punishes for trying to experiment with different party combinations.

It gets easier once you hit the endgame, the amount of A-EXP you get from fights on top of the A-EXP items from certain enemies(if you know where to look) and combination of Archetypes and Skills(MC Thief line with Lucky Find and Luckiest Find with equipment that boosts Luck as high as possible) can produce thousands of A-EXP and MAG let alone Fruits and Leaves.

It's just like Digital Devil Saga!

You can stick with a mastered archetype and gain an item that grants 1000 AEXP every time a mastered archetype earns 1000 AEXP. You can train all of your other archetypes while keeping your favorite equipped; leveling them "naturally" is entirely optional.

This actually makes archetype leveling extremely fast if you have all 4 party members with 4 mastered archetypes equipped that suit them. Get those XP item gains, bro!

optimizing your farming to max out stuff has always been a part of these games, This game is literally once of the fastest to max out your stuff compared to megaten games or even persona.

It's actually recommended to do so, because the 1000 AP items are really powerful to help max out other archetypes.

Also one gold achievement is the MC having mastered ALL archetypes.
GTFO out of there Atlus lol, this is Nier Replicant level of achievment BS.

Grinding is relaxing... I do admit some mob hack random fights are bs. But the games not a race.

Archetypes may lock in NG+ until you get them open again, but it doesn't reset your progress in them. Mastering them all in NG+ is going to be trivial as soon as I get there. I'm almost at the final, and if I felt like it, it really wouldn't take much effort to 100% them all.

I have all Persona games and barely had any need to farm on purpose besides doing objectives. Both Persona and this game have really repetative battle encounters, no argument here I think.
If you look at Persona as an example, you easily can experiment and merge personas without hindering your battle capabilities much. Right now I only have 3 people in party, so switching even one member to an unleveld archetype would make it hard to progress. So I am locked out to do the same ♥♥♥♥ over and over again, otherwise I just will be struggling to progress the game. Arguments that I just need to play till NG+ or later will be better are just no good.

Maybe I phrased it badly, grind is not the problem. The problem is that I am forced to do the same ♥♥♥♥ over and over again AND grind.

No. The game is perfect. You need to fix your expectations.

The game is far from being perfect. Above is only the most infuriating thing I found. Companion auto-leveling and from what I heard not being able to respec stats are just completely mind boggling. How can a sane mind come up with this? So if at early stages I wanted to level a mage but then wanted to try a gunner or a fighter my character will be just underperforming because of choices I made at the start of the game and there is no way to reverse it.

Why the archetype mechanic even exists if companions already have predefined archetype pathway and trying to play the character different would just make character underperform?

It seems the Characters are only suppose to max 2-3 lineages in a single play through (2 for later characters). The basic Archetypes level faster than the Veteran or Elite versions, so you can maybe grab a few more of those.

A lot of the archetype leveling seems fairly back loaded as well. I have two dungeons left, not sure how that is going to feel (how long I will get to play with power)

Bottle neck I've run into is MAG. This far in and I feel like I haven't really gotten to play around with making builds / inherited synergies. All my MAG is going to unlock signature Archetypes in October.

I am curious if NG+ on Regicide will be enough of a challenge early game to remain invested, or will be a cake walk until you get back to later months again.

Still have greatly enjoyed the Story and Vibe of this game though.

You sound like someone who has barely played the game and your opinion is therefore extremely subjective.

This game is objectively peak JRPG.

The genre is probably not suitable for you in general.
