I HATE.... Games that time you. I hate when games put me on a schedule. I hate deadlines in life and I REALLY hate them in games. Games are where i go to get away from deadlines.

I kind of dealt with the calendar implementation for this game because i had to but now i'm at the end of the game and as I understand it, once the final day is over, the game is over. What is worse is that I apparently didn't level the right people with the right archetypes to unlock the right moves so I have no hope of completing the end game trials that basically require you use a specific meta.

I'm not going to play it again because it really doesn't have much replayability and the core issue of linear advancement will remain. I have a dozen days left and i'm thinking about throwing the game on eBay. (PS5)

Your hate is duly noted.

A dozen days is more than enough to solve any problems you might be having or finish any incomplete content. I don't know what you're complaining about.

not every game is for everyone, ultimately, im no fan of timed mechanics either, but some people do enjoy them, it is what it is

I dont hate the game itself. I just hate this mechanic. The mechanic is such a huge part of the game though. It's like it punishes you for having fun playing the game the way you want to play.

i wasn't trying to outright say you hate the game, just that some games will have mechanics that may sap the fun for you, so the game might not be for you because of that alone.

a lot of games do have an intended way of play so its to be expected sometimes it will mesh with your own.

Okay. That's a core mechanic of the game though. I would recommend checking out some reviews and actual gameplay before purchasing a game in the future.

Alternatively, you could just get to new game +. There's still deadlines, but since your progress carries over, you don't need to do everything again and can focus on the stuff you want to focus on.

You have all the time to do everything in the game before a deadline.. play Persona titles if you want to cry about shedules..

I don't think this game will work if there is no time pressure.

Good thing there are other games to play, OP. Thanks for the essay though.

ur bad, i did everything in the game and maxed everything, including the optional bosses and still had 15 days left.

If it's like persona I imagine you can just fail the deadline and repeat the last few days. You should have backup saves.

I squeeked in at the last day with max follower ranks and virtues and all quests completed and got all awakenings in the avatar for my protagonist. I cut it close but got through it. I didnt aim to go to any location more than one time or as demanded by quests and tried to be efficient with virtues and still barely made it as hisemey rank 8 wants you on the gauntlet runner at night (which i had to travel to a random camp to accomplish and then return on the final day). In terms of capabilities for locations and quests the game gives options to succeed with (I used only gold attack/rush on hard mode) so it probably isnt as irrecoverable as is being suggested. It just depends how long you are willing to grind archetype experience.

you should read article or review of product before buying one

The time mechanics is as forgiving as it gets...

This is my first atlus game, I’m enjoying it, but ngl the calendar system and day system makes me feel like the game is work at time, and I need to constantly think about what to do. It’s not like final fantasy where you go to village, knock out there side quests then do main quest etc.

Not an insane fan of the system. I like having a calendar and the idea of time moving forward. That’s awesome as a concept.

But imo they should have done it more as a story concept than actually doing every day physically.
