I don't like Heismay. I know we are saving the kingdom (or at least the Prince) and all so we are taking any help we can get but still. I just got him, and I already want to stick him back in his cave. If there was somebody else I could swap him out with he would just be hanging out in my vehicle all the time. Also his archetype doesn't seem to fit with his character.

Atlus has a habit of putting in these mascot characters but at least Teddy was kind of funny and Morganna changed into a bus. All Heismay manages to do is get on my nerves.

Anyway, that was my rant thanks for listening.

He's still good to use in the 1st turn order slot as a buff/support. He's also good for stealing items.

Yeah, he and Hulkster have terrible stats that kind of ruin them for any real fighting potential. Heismay is at least more helpful in that he's perfect for getting those first turn steals off. Plus, as you said, he can handle a support role quite well on top of that.

Yup, don't need to make him focused on damage, can just make him buff and steal. Though, like any character can do that really. The game's combat isn't exactly challenging as you can just infinitely grind your way to being overpowered as hell.

really? to me heismay is a decent adult, and i even have bad impression when i see him in trailer since gosh i hate teddy and morganna

but well the game changed my mind, he never left my party considering how he grows on me and how useful he is in combat

The Magical Bread you can make early on gives 4 MP per 5 seconds or so in overworld, and they aren't too hard to make if you do a little Merchant farming for the money. Feels better than burning a turn in combat.

Tbh I haven't even tried Merchant yet due to how broken they are or so I heard.

How do you get the Magical Bread recipe btw? I haven't gotten it yet, currently in the Castle dungeon in Martinas.

Each new member to the party adds recipes. I believe Magical Bread is Heismay so should have it when you go to Runner next time.

Also worth noting that Maria's Bond (3 or 4 level idr) lets you cook without spending Time as well.

Wouldn't call him the mascot, but yeah I agree.

What I don't like the most about him is his design. I'm pissed we get his silly looking ass over a cool Rhoag one (they're probably saving it for the DLC but still...).
He also is very much useless in combat as he comes inherintely with a high Agility stat. And the problem with that is his starting Archetypes aren't the debuff/buffing type so you'll need to invest some MAG into him. Junah who joins right after fixes all those problems, making him an irrelevant bench warmer.
I did like his bond though it was pretty heartwarming.

tl;dr: bad design, bad at combat, good bond -> one of the worst companions

He and Strohl are dodging so often, I don't see how he's useless in combat at all.
Also, making Heismay a commander for quick buffs helps greatly in boss fights since he's first to act.
He teaches our MC how to fish and has an almost father-like bond with him.
His dry humor is refreshing as well. He's often outside on top of the gauntlet runner during travels no matter how freaking fast this thing runs.

But honestly, I'm extremely biased... which you might be able to tell. Hehehe.

the party is just full of cry babies, literally every single character should be on depression medication, this game is weird.
