Heismay
I don't like Heismay. I know we are saving the kingdom (or at least the Prince) and all so we are taking any help we can get but still. I just got him, and I already want to stick him back in his cave. If there was somebody else I could swap him out with he would just be hanging out in my vehicle all the time. Also his archetype doesn't seem to fit with his character.

Atlus has a habit of putting in these mascot characters but at least Teddy was kind of funny and Morganna changed into a bus. All Heismay manages to do is get on my nerves.

Anyway, that was my rant thanks for listening.

You're terrible.

Just look at his cute big red eyes. How can you not like him??

I'm hoping you like him more after a couple of Bond scenes and after the dungeon he helps in, but his Archetype makes more sense after you get some info about the Shadowguard as well.

I hope you'll return to this thread to update us later, whether you change your mind or not :chug:

Also, Heismay is immensely less annoying than Teddy or Mona, I mean holy cow, he is actually a really decent guy.

He is pretty much useless in combat too. Only character I wound up not using

Out of curiosity how come? I'd like to hear your grievances about his character.

You are the prince.

Wow, pretty much the opposite of my opinion.

And Heismay is NOT an annoying mascot parodic character for one.
Fuhrer Oct 23, 2024 @ 6:37am
Believe me, I hated him the absolute second I saw him as well. The entire race has tremendous Nopon vibes - that is to say, stupid, out of place joke characters that don't fit the more serious world around them or its tone. That being said, he isn't a joke character, and you'll warm up to him pretty quickly as a result. He's nothing like Teddie or that insufferable cat.

You're right about the archetype, though. Thief is kind of an awkward approximation of his skills that's not really appropriate. He's very clearly designed as more of a ninja type.

I love Heismay. It's like wow, finally, a character that's... actually a character instead of obnoxious. I actually liked Morgana too, but I found Teddy so annoying and unfunny.

My opinion is exactly the opposite, awesome character, his archetype fits perfectly and also the archetype line is very useful and i always have him on my team.

Would that not be Gallica?

It is the ninja type. Quite literally.

Literally indeed. IIRC the progression is Thief > Ninja > Assassin... Though the Royal Archetype is Royal Thief, but that matches the naming scheme for the others too.

Heismay's thief can steal things and can drain MP, it's that one archetype everyone needs to learn to easily replenish MP.

I just wish it scaled better... or at all? Idk how it works other than 'not well'.

The Magical Bread you can make early on gives 4 MP per 5 seconds or so in overworld, and they aren't too hard to make if you do a little Merchant farming for the money. Feels better than burning a turn in combat.

Tbh I haven't even tried Merchant yet due to how broken they are or so I heard.

How do you get the Magical Bread recipe btw? I haven't gotten it yet, currently in the Castle dungeon in Martinas.

Bruhh man Heismay is one of the better-written characters in the series, even if the game focuses his character too much in Kriegante at the expense of giving him no emphasis later, though he's still balanced with the rest of the characters.

Kinda glad they went with this direction with him since I was worried he was going to be a joke character just because of his appearance. :mtp_heismay:
