Regicide is if you want some kind of challenge when doing NG+. I just finished it on Regicide, and it was fun. But ngl, without some form of masukukaja, luck could be very well against you. Even fought the dragon of the apocalypse and final boss at full power in this difficulty. There is a way to completely cheese these bosses, but you need to prepare the items well beforehand (in my case, I overdid it).
That's cool.
I don't recommend farming the stat boosters, what's more important is farming the materials for sublime spoonful and other powerful food items, those are the real carries in Regicide.
If you have enough sublime spoonful saved to the end, the last phase of the final boss won't even have a turn. You only need something like 14 sublime spoonful at most for the dragon of the apocalypse and final boss (super hard version) combined.
Forgot to mention that social links are also reset, so you can't simply use tier 3 archetypes let alone skills, have to work with what you had previously mastered. The first half of the game isn't too hard, don't get ambushed. Enemies in Regicide will also attack you more easily in the overworld and can appear in higher numbers with magla crystals (4 in Regicide as opposed to 3 in Hard). The magla crystals was the slightly more infuriating part because that 4th overworld attacker can really disrupt your timing. I had to actually initiate a battle instead of going for an opportunity attack because I ended up getting ambushed myself.
(this was a joke, please don't kill people, monarchs or not)
Or use that clean Regicide save from Nexus...
