So is Louis a metaphor for populism
...or dare I say Trump?

"He later becomes a candidate in the upcoming election to become leader who vouches for true meritocracy, built on skill and rationality over birth and circumstance, attracting strong public support especially among radical youths."

Seems too perfect

Louis has power, where as trump is just an old fart wishing he had power. They couldn't be more different. All trump has is the feeble minds he corralled together by appealing to the most basic psychological issues that people have, such as fear of change. Not two years later and they were guzzling horse medication while regurgitating made up garbage by anyone with the letter Q in their nickname. Lmao

But I can imagine that some people believe in Trump like one would believe in jesus or flat earth etc. That is the kind of mental leap of faith you need to equate Louis to trump

Louis has a multiracial entourage, selected based on their ability. He is in the prime of his life. He takes whatever he wants, and doesn't get dragged through lawsuits like some kind of loser. He is basically untouchable, which is why he blatantly murdered the king to begin with.

Trump tries to be more like Forden the Clemar ruler, who only deals with high status people and nobility that he sucks up to in order to make use of their position, and only pretends to be charitable for the sake of appearances. Pretending to offer equal opportunity while in actuality they profit from inequality and covertly manoeuvre to maintain the nobility. He is basically on his knees having to suck every noble ♥♥♥♥ to keep them all happy. Otherwise he just gets replaced

Their whole 'contest' is a shallow attempt to take possession of the kings magic to make it seem as though they are its representative.

hmm that was fun

Strange. The pro-war candidate that (close to) assassinated it's predecessor in this race is Mrs. Harris.
But then again: Louis is actually popular. And the election here in this game cannot be rigged.

No. Louis isn't even representative of populism, let alone an advocate for meritocracy. Literally all of his actions within the first few hours of the game destroy any pretense of ideology. Everyone who keeps trying to impose modern politics on fictional settings should be shot for being too ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ stupid for the discussion.

Loveless would be the closest to a populist candidate.

What you say is disturbing to read.
You want to kill people for having smart opinions you don't understand at all?
Just because something is fictional does not mean it cannot be applied to reality.
In that respect a blue plan of a building is also fictional artwork until some architects and engineers build it.
You really are narrow minded. Especially since the parallels to out today's culture clash are too obvious.
