How long from New Game to gameplay?
About how long would you say it takes from pressing New Game to actual gameplay? (Not just running from one tutorial to the next or something similar, I mean like non-linear decision-making gameplay.)

I'm asking because if it opens with hours of cinematics and cutscenes and linear tutorials that's fine, but my gaming time is limited and I like to pay attention to the story, so in that case I have to plan around that.

Not even close to 4 hours man the first poster is waay off. It's not nearly as long to get into gameplay as Persona, infact I felt like it got to the gameplay pretty damn quick. There is a lot of story of course and it's very story heavy, and there are many times throughout the game you end up doing story stuff for hours or spending a long stretch doing day-to-day stuff which one may argue is not "gameplay", so playing on limited time can be frustrated for people who get a couple hours per day and end up spending a few nights not in combat at all
But if you like this kind of game the gameplay is incredible and there is plenty of it. Just keep in mind that it is a very story heavy game, but at no point does the story ever feel like a drag at all IMO

Edit: actually I just noticed you said "non-linear decision-making gameplay" then yeah that is about 4 hours or so, before that there is a lot of gameplay segments but they are linear dungeons. But that's just how the dungeon segments are in this game.

From game start to walking into the Fort? (first tutorial dungeon)

Like an hour at most.

From New Game to running around? Two hours, tops and that's if you're going around investigating every nook and cranny.

3 to 4 hours...

It's very BORING..... I let my friend buy it and I watch him play time to time... Not my type of game.

13 Sentinels.

I play a ton of Atlus game but ReFatanzio didn't do it for me. Call me crazy I don't like the battle theme. The game it's crafted well but I don't know. I feel I should be playing Octopath traveler instead.

I know what you mean, I was a complete sucker for P3 and P4, to the point where I think P4 is in my top 5 favorite games, and I couldn't finish P5. I tried! Almost everyone agrees it's the best in the series and it probably is by any objective measure, so I assumed I was just playing it wrong. I played the first dozen or so hours at least six or seven times, but it just didn't click. It do be like that sometimes. Life's too short to play games you don't enjoy.
