Best Build for the Main Protagonist

Where should I focus my stat allocation? Is a Strength build better than a Magic build in the long run?

I am thinking of doing a Magic/Support focused MC since you already get two physical focused members at the start... but I keep hearing a Strength build MC is very good at late game compared to a Magic one...

Anyway... how are you guys allocating your stats and how is that working out for you?
