1,4 gig update and has to redownload the whole game?
lol wa? why does it require to redownload the entire game for a small update?

Nope, it downloads 1.4gb or whatever, then patches the game (that part is not a download)

This is how steam handles updates. Files that are being updated are copied by steam so that way if anything goes wrong it will have backups. So if an update updates all the files of a game. Then its going to make a copy of all those files. This is why its recommended to have free space available thats at least the size of your largest game.

Your download was 1.4 GB. Then it patches every single change into the game. Literally 100s to 1000s of them then reinstalls the changed files. Get use to it. Updates are no longer complete files .Steam uses a patcher now. A small patch file can take alot of time Less strain on Steam servers. Much smaller files. Way more strain and time for the user.

deinstall the game, reload the game, you shoukd get the patched game (do it now, in 15 min i know more). if so, everyone should do that, more traffic for steam.

it worked. if you cant make space, deinstall the game, reinstall it, it is patched.
