sooooooo i deinstall the game and download it again, patched, because everything else i have to reinstall if i free my disk space...?
most people do not have high speed internet.
It's patching the way it was done in the olden days. It's not reinstalling the game per se...
Honestly given the graphics in the game and some of the design elements, I think the team behind it, is not in their 20s... not that it's an issue to me but a few Japanese studios seem to be stuck in the 80s way of doing things while barely touching on modern technologies/methodologies.

This Steams updating procedure ..not anything to do with the game

it works, why bother to update? that's how 99% of business are run. Governemnt, banks all uses technology from the 60s, 70s, still and hire retired 80s old people to maintain their cobol mainframe.

Not every game works that way on steam though but you'd need to have more than a few to notice.

but i you have to deinstall other things to get the space, and you have to reinstall it afterwards, it is no difference. if you dont have to reinstall anything, then that is no proble, to deinstall something.

Not saying it doesn't. Just pointing out what it comes off as. Look, the game is great as far as I'm concerned and the patching, doesn't bother me.(probably because I'm also from that era)

That plus actually most people HAVE high speed internet because China has it... so statistically and factually, most people in the world have high-speed internet. Not saying that not having high-speed internet doesn't suck though.

I have over 500 games.I think I know when they change there updating. YOur thinking the old way of downloading complete files. Steam determines how games are updated. Its there patcher. Only little tiny updates that involve a couple of small files that where changed are going tot be done that way now. Steam has probably imposed a limit on how big an update file can be.

So, when the installation finishes, my free space would be the same? or not?

if thats true wouldnt i be able to install it? its telling me i dont have enough disk space but youre saying its only a 1.4g download
It seems to be repackaging the whole game during the installation, so if you have less than 85 Gb of free space (or however much space the game was taking before), then you will be getting this error.

Thank you so much for this, I was getting desperate because I reinstalled it and nothing worked. I had to uninstall half my library!
Lol yeah I agree, I ended up having to uninstall the whole game and redownload it, because apparently I have only 61GB left. What a weird update.
