Patch not installing

Is the update not installing for anyone else?

The Patch broke not only the game but whole Steam. After downloading the patch it stays at 0% installing for hours and it is not because i don't have enough space, i have over 400GB free space on the drive.

Steam stops to react after some time to inputs so that i have to force close it via task manager, what the hell is this?

Alright guys, listen up.

If you have the 0% installing thing, you just need to let Steam run. It IS in fact installing but for some reason it doesn't show the progression. How do I know it's working?

Just open your Task Manager (Ctrl + Shift + Esc) and you'll see that Steam is writing to your Disk even though it's not progressing the percentage.

That way you can even calculate how long it takes (85 GB divided by whatever speed/s it's writing). In case Steam is not writing anything to your Disk for more than a minute then it's really doing nothing and it's a different problem and might require you to restart your Steam or your computer.

Okay, to ALL who are having this issue, i found something that worked. It requires uninstalling the game though. Switch to steam offline mode, top left, then close your steam. Go into your task manager and close ALL tasks that says steam, then reopen. Metaphor shouldn't be installing/stopping download, and then you can uninstall the game.

Im just bumping this in case people are still having the cant uninstall because of "Busy"

2+ hours of waiting for what... Anti-Aliasing for a game that's running fine at 4K on my 3070. What a complete waste of a Saturday, Maybe the next DLC will come with 2 hours free vacation time.

If I were to uninstall and reinstall it the installation would take the exact same time, except uninstalling and reinstalling adds a handful of extra unnecessary steps. Because whether you uninstall and then reinstall, or just let the Steam update "install" the game again, it'll go at the exact same speed (which is your disc writing speed). So in the end uninstalling and reinstalling takes a few minutes longer from the extra unnecessary steps. Really good advice.

It varies depending on you internet speed, I can download the game in 10 minutes no problem so it is actually good advice. Installing while downloading is different from patching 2GB into an 80GB installation (it needs to unpack and then repack the whole 80GBs).

Same here. Also uninstall doesn't work. So I can't do anything

For me the only fix was to restart my Steam Deck / PC without internet. So the game doesn't want to update. After that I could uninstall and redownload the game fully. That worked.

Ну гугл переводчик вам в помощь, буду писать на русском. Если у вас 0% завис установки, то вы закрываете принудительно стим, перезагружаетесь, удаляете физически папку с игрой, потом через средство винды удаляете приложение/программа/игру и у вас запускается стим и всё таки удаляет её. Потом вы просто ждёте и перекачиваете уже пропатчанную версию. Для меня это был единственный способ. Удачи.

It downloads in background so be patient and go brew a cuppa or make some food. It soon completes, has done for many that waited.

Bug is back with this update... I don't want to re-install the game every time there's an update!!!
