Patch not installing

Is the update not installing for anyone else?

The game didn't update in the hour I gave it to attempt.
After closing Steam, deleting the game folder, and doing a fresh install, it took 9 minutes.

think you need the full game size free on your storage device. That fixed it for me on the deck. Will try on the pc after

even using task manager to end the steam process, it would restart itself within a few seconds, meaning i couldnt delete the metaphor folder as it was in use due to update.

i had to restart my pc and quickly delete the metaphor folder before steam started up to reinstall it

Yeah this isn't okay. Was locking up all of steam and slowing my entire PC while doing nothing. Managed to end the task after trying a few times and closing steam. Deleted the game folder.

Steam is working again and my computer is back to its usual speed.

An issue like this with a patch is not okay.

Yeah it says I don't have enough disk space for the patch when I clearly do.

It's true that it's a 91gb patch.

Is it okay though? not really, they didn't even bother to make a real patch so it's just redownloading the entire game.

You are only downloading 1.4 GB, however...

the devs packaged it so the game recompiles all 91 GB. And Steam makes sure you have that space before it tries to recompile.

No, this is not the best way to apply an update. But its what the devs did.

It wouldnt install for me even when I had 200GB free space. I had to kill steam, relaunch steam, uninstall the game, then reinstall the game. Now its working

Got mine working by restarting Steam, cancelling the download, uninstalling, then re-installing.

Totally messed up on steam deck. Had to uninstall and reinstall. Had 250gb free

Its telling me I dont have enough disc space, which is odd.
