why does it matter to you? Would you stop playing if it was? Does it hurt your feelings?

I get that this game is political and a real critique on modern society, but just because it features relevant cultural themes doesn't make it "woke". The game has a clear ideology which can be a bit "preachy" but none of that stuff feels shoehorned in just to appear virtuous. Honestly critiques on racism and religion have always been a massive staple in JRPGs. Unless I come across an NPC that gives me pronouns or tries to tell me how they're hated for their gender or whatever, I'm gonna have to say no this game isn't woke. It's political but it isn't woke. All other conclusions you're trying to come up with (equating any of the real life bad guys to real life countries and wars) is you putting your ideologies onto the game.

That said if Louis forces me to send him 10 billion USD in aid under the threat of having the games npc's see me as antisemitic, or if the game has you winning the crown by opening all the boarders up so everyone can live in harmony, then I might side with you, otherwise you just sound like a clown.

Diversity is good, if the game is not ruined by it, it makes sense, and it helps create the world. Different views are great, if that is not all the game ends up being, or it is trying to lecture you.

Done well you have wonderful games like BG3. Done badly you have dreadful games like Dustborn. Then you have games where the 'wokeness' is cringe, but the game is still good (Capes).

This game feels a tiny bit cringe in places (talking about anxiety), but those moments are few and far between. Any decent story will have elements you could link to real world situations.

The game does not feel like it is trying to lecture you. Yes it has religious groups, different races, different levels of power, but most good stories do. What is more important is that the 'bad' characters have reason for acting the way they do, and they do.

They could have written the story from the 'army' side, the 'religious' side, or the 'underdog' side, and each could have felt like the good guys. I expect they chose the underdog, as people like playing that type of group.

Yes. Flatly yes. But it gets a pass because A its high quality title B its Anime. Anti-Woke types try to ignore high-quality "woke" games because it doesn't fit their narratives. This is why you'll see some say BG3 isn't 'woke' even though it is by every one of THEIR metrics.

Yes. Everyone is gay, and trans. Then the big plot twist in the game is that they go double trans and double gay, and revert back to straight and non-trans, but then the big villain turns them gay and trans again!

who gives a ♥♥♥♥ lmao

I swear the people REEEE-ing about "Woke" are way more annoying than the people who were REEEE-ing about games not being woke enough 10 years ago

Just play the game, or don't. Getting mad because a game has A GAY, or doesn't star A WOMAN, it's all stupid. People who used to make fun of people for being obsessed with identity politics are now themselves obsessed with identity politics. It's so stupid.

♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ just play games and stop crying about if a game is woke or if a game is not woke.

What is "woke" about BG3 (ignoring the fact that every ♥♥♥♥♥♥ and their dog put different meaning into woke, but we'll assume something along the lines of progressive, feminist and all the other words the conservatives don't like)?

Think about how mad they were about pronouns in Starfield and then go make a character in BG3.,
Is that enough to make someone mad over being "woke"? This superficial level of "wokeness"? Not the serious progressive themes of emancipation, equality, human rights, social cohesion, political self-determination - all of which are present in Fantazio and completely devoid in a primitive "good vs evil" fantasy of BG3?
