Did I do a mistake specing only magic stats?
I am level 19 and I specced only into magic stat, I think I have 28 magic and only 8 strength.
Playing currently mage but I want to try also merchant as I heard its OP, will I have issues playing merchant with stats mainly on magic?
I understand you cannot respec..
Should I from now on spec into strength?
Will I have issues mid-late game with only magic stats?

Well, you are not alone in the fight. Even if you are sub optimally specced there are companions to even things out. Also, archetypes give you stats when equipped so I would say it's not a critical mistake.

Personally I specced all into STR and I manage even when I have to use magic because the enemy is resistant or repels phys.

Edit: you know what I'm upset about though, that I missed on free luck stat points because if you use the toilet on the runner on Idlesday (Sunday) you get +1 luck. Literally my heart sunk. All that luck unclaimed.

i think im close to the endgame and i have had no problems with my magic build. you get plenty of options later.
also im pretty sure the merchant is used only in overworld combat as stunning and killing enemies outside of battle gives a bunch of money. like 400 money for a blue enemy that gets 1tapped.
but the upgraded merchant might be strong in its attack skill, would not know as i havent tried
no, you won't. while the MC's strongest move is a physical attack, the special syntheses he has access to all scale off of magic. you'll do less damage but you won't be noticeably screwed. the game's not hard enough for that.

well that was a massive spoiler.
you could always recover it, considering you're early on, and there is a lot of ways ot get freebie stats anyway

if you're on normal, your stats honestly do not matter as much as you think, your archtype gives a large chunk of them to the stats you need, and that can carry you most of the way.
No, magic build is fine, especially as the other party members don't excel as much in magic as the hero can.
Stat max is 99. With stat bonuses from classes, there's no need to dump all of your points into one stat. Feel free to spread them around a bit, especially if you want to play the MC with varied class-types. It's still good to focus on something - mag, or str, or both, along with one or two other stats - but you don't need to be obsessive about it.

Not really. His Gold Attack skill scales damage from strength, but since it's a weak damage attack you don't really care about that to begin with. It's main benefit is it has a higher crit chance, and since it's Almighty it can crit *anything*. So what you really want is Luck, and funnily enough the Merchant archetype grants Luck as it's primary bonus.

Also remember you have inheritance slots. Funnily enough having a magic build in a Merchant or Brawler isn't as crazy as it sounds. You can use the inheritance slots for magical attacks, and since the archetype's inherent skills all utilise something other than MP you're not completely useless should you run out.

Merchant doesn't grant strength or magic though, just endurance, luck and agility.

♥♥♥♥ mb that was a big slip
You can use fling trainer to respec your stats, that's easier to deduce if you put all your points into only 1 stat, like magic. For example, level 19, and you put every point into magic, you can do take 18 off magic, and add 18 into str to do a respec.
Most of your stats come from the archetype anyway so i wouldnt worry about it too much

They mean a trainer as in software like cheat engine; it's a term leftover from MS-DOS days where a seperate program would be included usually with a filename like <gamename>trainer.exe (Doomtrainer, Hexentrainer, princetrainer etc etc) to serve as a "sandbox" mode of the game with stuff like invincibility or endless resources turned on by default.... or in case of RPG's the ability to respec anywhere, anytime.
