If they sell a new improved version I might buy it, I don't know...
What could they add? I don't know, the game is almost perfect right now!
So no one buys the first version we dont get a royale version is that hard to comprehend?
Ill buy both simply because Atlus made a good game.
Though even if they do an expanded rerelease, I wouldn't personally regret getting this day one rather than waiting a couple of years, as I've been looking forward to this since it was announced.
I played Shin Megami Tensei V on the switch when it first came out and then found out by Vengeance earlier this year. While I love Vengeance, I do feel a little slighted because there was no a la carte way to get the new version on the switch. Vengeance was available at full price, I ended up getting it on Steam because there was no incentive to get it on switch. The experience definitely makes me wary of getting atlus games immediately.
Atlus will definitely come out with an objectively better version of this game 2 or 3 years from now and remove this version of Metaphor from digital stores.
I recommend trying the free demo. and use that to gauge whether you need to play the game now or fine waiting for that objectively better version.
Most remakes or releases of SNES , PS1, and SEGA Genisis games. like FFT, Valkyrie Profile, ...Secret mana, old FF Legends. Nothing modern I guess.
The good ole days!
Ya im sure they've had a lot of success with these royal/golden versions so...should expect the same here, sadly.
I totally get this mentality, because it sort of *does* feel like they release them 6 months apart, but I think the shortest space between one of these games and their "golden/royal" version was SMTV and SMTV Vengeance, which was just short of 3 years apart. P4 took nearly 4 years, and P5 took almost exactly 3. I think the sense that the time between releases is much shorter than it is has to do with the fact they tend to release a major game and a couple of spin offs between one game and its golden/royal version (and what we know about Persona 6 suggests that it will come out in 2025 or '26, and then a Metaphor Royal version a year or so after that).
Atlus have stated they're pursuing a path similar to what they've done with P3R in future, though specifically they were talking about P6 it's likely they'd apply it to Metaphor too. Sega have already said they're looking to shift to a smaller DLC more often style model (alongside naming Persona, Like a Dragon and Sonic as franchises they want to go annual, so it's likely we'll start seeing Atlus following the Ryu Ga Gotoku model; release a mainline title, follow up with a few spin offs, rinse repeat).
