Opinion on status ailments
I'm up to level 30 but status ailments doesn't seem nearly as useful as it is in smtvv. Bosses I fought so far seem to be immune to status ailments or maybe my stats aren't good enough to make them consistent. Does anyone know if it is better later in the game or are they only useful against mobs?

I haven't messed with it much but i'm burning things weak to fire pretty consistently and I don't know if that's Mages fire spell or Commanders skill. Mage spell doesn't say it burns and Commander skill says it can burn.

If it's like the past games it will scale with luck. I don't know about non generic bosses or bosses in general and their resistances. Most every JRPG i've played Status play has been a total crap-shoot.

If you want to try and get your luck up to 50 with gear and your chances should be equal with bosses and mobs, if not then status effects are probably bad in this game or the bosses are immune.

Either way this isn't something other people are going to be able to help you with even if status is viable without feeding you tons of information you don't currently need.

It's somewhat dependent on area. Some enemies are more weak or resilient to some effects more than others. Many of the times where an enemy doesn't have a weakness, they are usually more susceptible to one or more status effects to compensate. Goborns for example, being vulnerable to Sleep effects.

That said, in general, I generally only run Status Effects as riders attached to actual damaging skills, but I at least got some use out of them in general.

i am heading to the 5th city and i dont recall having any success with status effects on bosses (except one that the informant specifically says poison works well against)

Oh yeah, bosses generally don't have status effects work for the most part, with some notable exceptions, but they can help with some of the more difficult regular monsters.

The only thing that works was what the informant says.

If bosses are immune to status ailments with the exception to their direct weakness, that makes them pretty worthless for the most part. Altus was on the right track with smtvv but had to regress back to the standard trpg strategy. What a shame.

They work, paralysis against the minotaur and poison against the Goblin King make these fights a breeze.

Paralysis takes a bunch of times to prog though.
