Slow Like Persona 5?
I put 5 hours into Persona 5 but I put it down as I felt the pacing was so slow to start and the game was so easy that it felt like a graphic novel more than a game. Does Metaphor differ in its pacing versus Persona 5? Is the first 5 hours fun?

All Atlus games are usually easy or easily exploitable as far as RPGs go. It's just the way things are. Metaphor itself is way slower than the average Atlus game though.

So far feels a lot slower. P5 opened up fast, I'm 10hr into this and still railroading me through tutorials...

That sounds horrible, does the game feel easy?

I would say the opposite, I don't think you get to "free time" for longer yes, but you get actual combat and dungeon running much quicker. Still, by 10 hours you should be well into free time with the rails mostly off, so I'm not sure how you say that's the case, unless you are taking an extraordinarily long time progressing.

So far I haven't had to think much, but I'm still very early. Easier than P3R and P5R, way easier than SMTVV or Nocturne.

Persona 5 feels like a speedrun compared to this game. it properly starts at the 5-6 hour mark. Metaphor is very slow paced compared to P5.

is it fun? Every minute. but that's just me.

the game is also harder than p5r or p3r I'm not sure what the guy above me is yapping

in what world is this game easier than the last 2 persona games?

I went against my gut and ended up buying the game. My favourite game is Final Fantasy Tactics, so any fantasy RPG with a job system, political intrigue as a forefront of a story, and excellent reviews I'll try out. I guess I'll just have to trudge through the first 5 hours of the game and somehow handicap myself if the game is that easy. Thanks for your input.

Not playing more than 5 hours of P5, one of the best JRPGs in years is criminal. I haven't even played this game yet but I doubt its as good as P5 so not sure if you will enjoy it. 5 hours is like nothing in JRPG hours, that is like 2 tutorials lol

A lot faster, no need to fight weaker anemies through long turn based fights, there is no lot of "free time" like in persona.

To clarify, it's slower to open up and give you full control. Of course it's faster paced gameplay because you can defeat enemies in the world alongside instanced battles but I'm reminded of FF13 which took eons to stop bugging you with tutorials.
