Honestly if there was ever a real reason to wait for an updated rerelease of an Atlus title it's them fixing questionable aspects of the gameplay (like how in P5 vanilla guns only reloaded when you left the dungeon and not between battles).

Why even buy it twice? I'd tell someone to their face that Persona 3, 4, and even 5 OG were just fine. Unless you just love those games to death, their enhanced versions are not worth a playthrough. The Answer was repetitive garbage that ruined a perfect ending. No one liked Marie and Golden mostly just added baby QoL. Royale was far better received but didn't change enough of the game to warrant another 100+ hour playthrough.

People will survive if they don't want to wait 2-3 years to MAYBE play an enhanced version. And veteran? Aside from mostly persona 3-5 and now SMT V, atlus rarely releases enhanced editions prior. Digital Devil and Devil Summoner didn't get it. Soul Hackers didn't get it. Etrian Odyssey didn't get it. Etc.

Just don't tell people what to do, thanks. If someone wants to buy the enhanced version fine on them but it probably won't be worth it unless you just really like playing through games multiple times, and a lot of people don't.

Most people are instead hoping Reload is setting the new standard anyway where the extra content is just DLC, even if it's overpriced DLC.

The reissue practice may work in console world as console player simply stupid to buy same remaster/reissue in multi-generations every 5-7 years.

It is indeed very ugly in PC side in case request gamer to pay multiple times for reissue just simply like DLC added.

Speak for yourself. Marie is fine, many people like her. Golden is indeed the best ultimate version so original PS2 can be thrown away.

Though really it was fine to play P4 in 2008-09 already, right after one played P3 on the same console, without waiting years.

I like Marie in concept...but the way they went about her character development/writing felt off to me.

I feel like if they would have eased off the more excessive Tsundere attributes just a small amount she would have left a better impression on me.

Sadly with only one example we don't know if that's an outlier or a new trend until it happens twice at least.
