Chainsaw one use item?

Hi when I first started out I could buy a chainsaw as a one use item from the halloweener girl. I got enough nuyen to buy 2 once. After that, I never saw it again. May I ask why?

Just like the Flamer and Gatling it seems to be nothing more than a goodie.
Kinda a shame for I would have like some heavies like a panther to go on my troggy.

Not sure about the Chainsaw specifically.
But the Hub area changes as you progress the main story, so they made different version of the hub area that each has it's own vendors.
So maybe if you get invited to someone that has the Chainsaw vendor, you could buy more!

I thought your items don't change. you stil only see your items if you are in a group

I like hitting people in the head with my gardening shovel as much as the next guy, but a proper chainsaw as my default melee attack would really bring the landscaping efforts to another level.

The only question is "blunt tree or blade tree?"

the sad thing is with all of the progression, gear, ect, the biggest thing on my mind is ways to obtain these items. many of us thought that these items were replenished at the end of each mission as they had an ammo value, and we were saddened to find them gone.

maybe this is an option after a while, and i'm very glad this game does not hold your hand and lets you learn a lot on your own. That being said can anyone say if purchasing these is an option in the future? similar to the karma cap vanishing and passives being applied to unused weapon slots. i have a feeling i wont know until i can find the information out from someone more knowledgable.

sorry to bother everyone, but i think a lot of us need more information on some of the systems and querks of the game, and hopefully we can grow as a community passing the information along to one another like we have.

i know that the devs are working hard on more important issues, but please make these purchasable from vendors. even if it's not until you beat the game or something. my love for chainsaws has no price!

Yeah, it is from the blunt tree and nothing says "I mean business" like hitting them in the head with a shovel, but I mean't "which tree gets the chainsaw?" ;)

I think half the hub would be filled with chainsaw users either way if it was a standard weapon.

I think the chainsaw is more an "exotic" weapon

*edit: added below since I wasn't finished posting.. stupid iphone
as such an exotic melee weapon "tree" could be created.. same goes for an exotic ranged weapon "tree" for flamers, RPGs and the like.
