What happened to Shadowrun Online??
All the Kickstarter backers and Early Access purchasers were told they were investing in the long awaited Shadowrun MMORPG.

That's sure as hell what I was waiting for and the reason I purchased Early Access. So what is this? What happened??

Great, all we need is one more reason to be wary of kickstarter and early access funding.
I couldn't be more disappointed, I was so looking forward to finally playing Shadowrun ONLINE when it was finally released.

This is not the game we funded.

Yeah, its a loooooong story. I am not sure if all the posts concerning that have been deleted or not, but you can probably google it and find out why.

But yeah....

This game is fun, but it isn't what we hoped and dreamed...

It isn't but the end result is surprisingly decent. Maybe someday we'll see a full mmo Shadowrun experience, I'm sure the demand is there for it.
Smiley? Why should anything be deleted? Declare yourself, chummer!

The definiont of MMORPG is wide and there are various threats on this in the forums and on shadowrun.com.
Long story short: A full WoW style game was not intended and is simply impossible on what mjust be around 1% of what WoW had as a budget.
However some of the things we DID want to do also did not make it into the game (yet) given the loooong stoy referred to above.

We are dedicated to expanding this further but the current game is closer to what Guild wars 1 was in terms of features (which is also an MMORPG) and we hope to build on this.

And playing with others is the main thing, which I think works really well:
Look at us playing!
