[spoilers] finished game, can someone summarize the plot?
I managed to finish the game, but I had a really hard time keeping track of all the non-Western names. I did see the true ending on YouTube, which reveals the real identities of the 2 main characters... I searched for story explanations, but only found walkthroughs

btw, here are some extra UI features that I think would make the game better:
jump to bottom
text search
temporary column (to hold chat whose speaker is unidentified)
move chat to top
move chat to bottom

Hmm, it's hard to put into words, because by design it's made to be confusing lol.

Buuut to try.....there were two Seowons. One who was with her brother and was actually kidnapped another who died when they were in an infant and was never reported dead and had a fake missing persons case opened later in life.

The one listed as the mother, was actually the mother of the infant seowon who died. She was triggered by info packets for her dead daughter due to start school, into a delusion that her daughter was actually still alive. Her divorced husband is the man listed as the ex-teacher and the father of dead Seowon.

The one listed as the father is the father of kidnapped Seowon and her brother and has the dead wife/mother.

Brother and sister were out with their caretaker at the park. Seowon sees caretaker as a mother. The brother didn't want the caretaker close by so that their mum from heaven wouldn't be upset. So when he went to the store, Seowon was left alone while the caretaker was distracted and the other delusional mother kidnapped that Seowon.

When the ex-husband/ex teacher heard about this from the grandmother, he took the child back to the original father and then handed himself in as the guilty party. None of that added up to the detective, interviewed the grandmother and figured out the mother was the actual culprit. Father of dead Seowon begged to keep missing case of dead Seowon open to keep Seowon alive in spirit.

Mother is essentially held in a metal institution at the end being interviewed by the original detective. She trying to get the truth out and close the open unsolved case of the dead "kidnapped" Seowon and also help the mother. Presumably that happens at the end.

TLDR: Missing persons case opened on dead Seowon. Delusional mum kidnaps a kid of the same name of her dead child. Grandmother rats her out to ex husband, ex husband returns kidnapped child to their parents and tried to take the blame. Grandmother then tells police the truth of dead Seowon and her daughter. Mother locked away. Years later dead Seowon missing case eventually closed and mum gets some help.

Or something like that lol. :zaglol:
wow, awesome. Thanks for the summary.
a few questions...
- when Seowon's mother kidnapped Seowon, did they stay at the mother's home or a different location... how did the ex-husband know where to find her?
- did the mother understand that this was not her real daughter?
- in the true ending, the detective was adult Seowon?
- was the purpose of the investigation to help Seowon's mother with her mental illness? because after the grandmother explained the kidnapping, the case would've been pretty straightforward

-From what I gathered, it was the grandmothers place, as the grandmother mentions Seowon was happy and called the mother Aunty etc. The grandmother called the ex-husband and told him what happened.
-No she did not understand that it wasn't her daughter. She was wondering why Seowon was with a "random" boy (Seowons brother). In saying that though, there seems to be some disconnect when Seowon is returned.
-In the true ending the detective was not adult Seowon. It was the original detective that was investigating the case. In that other ending where you see the detective as Seowon. that was just her continuing the delusion.
-I'm guessing you're asking about the investigation into the "kidnapping" of dead Seowon? I'll be honest, that one confused me too. Obviously the initial investigation makes sense....but I don't understand why it would have taken so long to close the case. They'd have the testimony of the father and grandmother. Perhaps because the mother is the one who initiated the missing persons report in the first place. I think it being to help the mother makes the most sense though. Perhaps they left it open for so long at the behest of the ex husband.

thanks again, I'm lucky you were willing to explain the story :)

The last bit about the detective not closing the case is because closing the case wouldn't have affected things - the mother was still responsible for the kidnapping and revealing that her real daughter was dead wouldn't have undone that.

The actual 'unsolved' part of the case is that the mother has been locked up in an institution ever since and the detective is trying to get her released/properly treated (the bit about the ex-husband protesting at the human rights commission implies she hasn't exactly been getting proper care in the meantime)
