Anyone know a mod or cheat to get rid of the Hero/Villain-system?
Quick version: I think the Hero/Villain-mechanis ruins the otherwise fun game, and as this is the PC-version, modding it away shouldn't be too difficult. So... does anyone know a mod or cheat that allows me to switch off the hero/villain-stuff, allowing me to enjoy the game in peace and quiet? Thanks.

And btw, I couldn't care less what people think of the system, so don't even bother discuss that here.

game is out a few days, no there's no such mod (yet). TASM1 (same engine) did not had real mods and i doubt that TASM2 will have those. There are unlimited health trainers out there i think, just google that if you need.

for the hero/villain-system: do 3 russian mob jobs (fist symbol) with a neutral meter or 6 with a "bad boy" meter and you're good... will cost 5-10 minutes, dunno where's the problem.

otherwise:

in-game cheats (great idea, beenox). ;)

And fifteen minutes later, I need to do it again. And again. And again. If it was a one-time thing, it wouldnt' be a big deal. But I have to constantly do it, as I loose my Hero-progress *during main missions*, as I'm not there to deal with this crap. Henche I need to remove it entirely.

Yeah this is the only thing about the game that I just did not like. It prevents me from just relaxing and swinging around the city. The way it should work is if you are in the pulsing red circle when a mission fails, then you lose menace points. You should not be penalized for fighting a crime in Harlem when a crime in the finacial district expires.

just ignore the hero/menace mechanic. being a level 3 menace is no biggy. unless your wearing the Scarlet Spiderman suite with the heroic bonus, its just nor worth your time worrying about your rep.

I'll give it a shot, but it's just so annoying to be hunted by the taskforce all the time. Especially when I'm a Heroic 2, start a main mission, and end up on the villain-side afterwards because I wasn't there to deal with the petty crimes happening in the meantime. Or worse, have three or four red ones at once. So even if you do one or two of them, the other two you don't have time to do cancel out the ones you just did. Sigh...

It's just part of the story. Once I beat the game, I went swinging around the city and monitored how long it would take for the rank 3 hero meter to become menace. It took forever to reach menace. These activities raise the hero bar so much that I usually keep the meter at heroic without even trying lol.

Regardless though, mods sound fun, can't wait to see what shows up!

The problem with that is that the game pretty much forces me to rush through the story, rather than enjoy the game. But thanks, I'll give that a shot. With so few missions, it won't take long anyway. :)

I'm two missions in and after hearing what a PITA the hero/menace system is I've opted to swing around the city and find all the comics before that aspect of the game is introduced/activated. Near 200 collected so far and not a single crime has popped up. :P
All0utWar May 4, 2014 @ 1:22pm
There's far too much crime in such a short amount of time that it's near impossible to just swing around the city. You have to constantly swing to each and every crime in order to keep the task force off of you and there's so much it's ridiculous. If there was less crime, and failing a couple wouldn't lower the meter as much, I'd be fine with this menace/hero thing.

I would prefer if you could ignore the crime entirely. That way you would get Hero if you do them, and Villain if you fail the ones you try. That way they could be harder too, and thus more fun. Or fun period.
