how do i do the 'web strike' ?

i can't seem to do it....it says press X or the attack button but after i press X after web rush spidey just does a kick and enemy does not get stunned....i did buy the stun upgrade where if you do web strike enemy should get stunned?

so what gives?

Press X multiple times and it usually works for me.

your timing is likely off. you want to try and hit X or attack midway.
