Not On Steam?

Okay, I own the Amazing S[ider-Man games (1 and 2) in my Steam library, and I am almost positive I purchased at least ASM2 on Steam. Because I also have DLC purchases listed. I thought I had bought the first game back when it launched off Steam, but I may be wrong about that. Either way, I am building a new PC this summer, and am now forced to wonder:

Since I don't see either of these games on sale on Steam, does that mean I LOSE the two games when I build my new PC because I can't download them anymore? Or are one or both (at least if I bought it on Steam) always available to download in perpetuity even if they are no longer on sale?

the games were removed from the store probably because the license expired but if you have them in your library you can still play them

I decided to manually double check, and I did purchase both ASM games from Steam, so I don't have to go insane trying to hunt down lost discs when I build my new PC in the coming months.

I assume that when I build a new machine, they will appear in my library and will be downloadable again?

What OS are you on? These games worked fine for me in the past but now they are completely broken. The launcher crashes and stops working every time. For both ASM 1 and 2. So if you are getting new hardware and Win 10 you might have a problem. They are playing fine for you now?

On my original system, I played them on Windows 7, which was fine. Then when I upgraded to a new laptop, which is now an old potato, I have been using Windows 8.1, and the games are also fine. To be honest, I hear almost nothing but horror stories about older games and Windows 10 compatibility. So much so that, while I am not saying I won't buy Win10 for it, I am seriously considering not.

Even the old GTA games (III, VC, and SA) are reported to have huge problems with Windows 10. I also might go with a dual boot system and use Win 7 for my older games, like this, 3D Era GTA games, Just Cause 2, and others.

Yea but these games used to work fine for me on Windows 10. I think it might have to do more with the fact that the DRM or something is breakign the game because it's offically not on the store anymore. If compatiblity is the problem, then how come running it in Windows 7 mode doesn't help at all.

Also, just to verify. Currently both of these games open up just fine on windows 8.1?

I just booted up both games after reading your question, since I haven't played them in a while. ASM1 plays fine on my system. ASM2 plays, but is incredibly laggy with an unplayably low frame rate, like lol 10-15 while webslinging. I tried dropping all the settings down to medium but that didn't help. I also think my 6 year old computer with a very old GeForce 770m is starting to run poorly, even by the standards of 2012 tech. I may need to do a reformat, because other things run poorly on my computer compared to the way they did even a year ago.

So I may not be the right guy to ask. But you may be right about something breaking the game since it was taken out of Steam's Store page.

Thank you for trying that. That's so strange. Why won't it work in Win 8.1 compatibility mode. I think it has to do with .net or something. I suppose you have an older version of that?

Thankfully I got this one on PC and the 1st one on ps3... phew. That's why one should buy movie based games fast before they expire. Same happened to Godfather games or Turtles.
