The Amazing Spider Man 2 Resolution Fix Solved (hopefully)

So basically everyone has had this issue and every time you change your setting and go into regedit and mess around and nothing seems to be working right? well i had the same issues to the point where i was banging my head on the wall and i contacted activison on this issue and the answer is quite in front of you, basically your computer has maxed out its memory for the games requirements so it forces your PC or laptop in a low graghics mode so your computer can run the game, its stupid that they have this feature in there, but if your computer is high end like mine and it should run it all on max settings right? well i found the issue that causes this problem, the shadows setting is bugged and i have tested this out on every setting, and ill explain what i did to get all this working to find out why this was happening and you should try this to find your computer limits for the low end PC users and for us high end users this ill tell you why it forces us into low mode.

for this i would recommend turning on the FPS bar in steam because it will show you if you are in full resolution or not, if the numbers are huge and pixeled out like on a ps1 then its showing you that its in low resolution mode and its much easier to know if everything is working instead of going in game to see if its worked or not, saves time.

Now put all your settings on low BUT max out your resolution and start the game, it should work if it doesnt work make sure your gaming graphics card is running the game and not your integrated graphics, so basically your screen should be on full resolution you selected, now exit the game, now put the texture quality setting up 1 one and start the game, if the steam FPS numbers are small on the top right still then it mean your computer can run that setting, exit the game and repeat on every setting (but shadows) till the steam FPS bar pixels out if it pixels out your PC has hit its limit.

if every setting is maxed but your shadows that means your PC can run the game easy, but the shadows is bugged if you put it higher then the medium setting its going to force you into low resolution and low graghics because anything higher is bugged out, i have put all my graphics on low on purpose and put the shadow settings on amazing and high to test to my theory and the game forces me into low resolution everytime so i beileve the shadows is causing this problem so leave it on medium and it works fine with all the max settings.

i have told activison this and they basically not going to patch this so you got to suffer with medium shadows, i have been at this for days trying to figure the cause and the issue i found was the shadows is causing this issue, i hope this helps solves the problem and explains why your PC doing what its doing as well as identified this bug for the high end users.

Lattcua74, unfortunately not, the shadows are bugged out and activison have to patch it but they wont patch it so you have to suffer with medium shadows, everything else seemed to be ok on max settings but shadows, you have to play the game on medium shadows if you can max everything else out.

Repooc, i did have this issue first before the graphics problem but i can not remember how i fixed it, i remember looking up on youtube to fix this i believe but it is something completely stupid, i believe you had to rename the exe spider man application but i don't remember, its been 2 years since i played the game =/
