*Spoilers" Final Boss Fight advice?
Good gods, the final boss fight for this game is annoying as all get out, I have no problem getting past part 1 but part two with the insane precision timing on the counters for catwoman I just can not seem to do, I get off one lucky counter cape stun combo maybe, and then the rest of the time the ones I do succeed at she dodges, I've looked at walkthroughs, I know what I have to do, but it just seems impossible to get the timing right, After having died innumerable times I even went back and got the blackest night bat suit so I wouldn't have to worry about health, and still. I can't progress past, part 2 of the fight. I'm starting to wonder if it's my mouse, an if trying it with a controller might give me better results. I can't believe that after slogging through this game (and yes parts of it felt like slogging) the last fight would be this utterly obnoxious. Any advice would be helpful. Thanks everyone.

Alright, this fight was the most irritating in the whole game.

First part of the battle is the one where you have to beat Catwoman on the 2D screen (her life bar is still visible). This one's the easiest and you've made it.

Second part starts after she throws you that stun bomb. This can be divided into 2 parts.
2A - Here you'll have to counter her attacks when you hear the sound (her eyes also become visible and red).
2B - The Hopping part where she "splits herself" into many Catwomen and you have to attack the right one. This is a nightmare.
First you have to be patient here. ONLY Counter when the white lines start showing above her head. Countering at any other time will allow her to hit you.
One more tip i can give you on this last part is NOT mash the counter button. Mashing it will let her rek u EZ. Hit it only once for each part of her triple combo.

Got the same problem getting past part 2 of the fight:
I'm hacking (repeatedly - should I not do that?) on the right mouse button when I hear the sound, and it does nothing at all.
Do I need to hit the correct direction key, too? In the normal fights, Batman will only counter in any direction when you both hit right mouse button & a direction key.
But you'd have to be superhumanly fast to pick the correct direction in the split second after the red goggles have appeared.

I got it working once, if I remember correctly, by using any direction keys - now I can't seem to repeat it.

Ok, it's the mouse block button that is bugged in that fight. Couldn't beat her at all with the mouse, switched to keyboard (J, K, L by defaut) and one shotted her without getting hit.

Thank you so much, DJ Loki!
That plus Hellhould's info on not mashing the block button in the third part (seems you can do that just fine before) did it for me!

The other way is batman wear a new blackness suit can prevent Cat Woman to hurt you.

I just got to the catwoman fight and its insanely stupid. The games counter system is broken as is and I have been having to mash counter just to get it to properly register, now it wants me to time it precisely. This games boss fights are some of the most horrible experiences I have ever had in gaming.

I am going to try the controller method and see if that is any better.

Yes, the fight was a very amateur means to drag the final fight out. The queue seems to be more audio than visual, so I'm curious to know if anyone involved in the weakest entry in the series (Origins / Origins Blackgate) tested this bit of work with a deaf person? I can't imagine that poor gamer fairing too well.

Ended up getting through this by sheer luck, had to use the blackest night suit though which felt like cheating..probably ranks as one of the worst boss fights in my 20+ years of gaming. Will be glad to put this game on the virtual shelf...Good luck everyone it is doable, just not pleasant.

Here we are in 2019 and it's been pissing me off too.
Countering has always seemed slightly off in this game, i never had a problem in the other batman games.
It seems like you have it nailed with the audio cues, I'd been wearing the invincible suit and kept failing miserably using visual cues. I beat her easily straight after finding your post :steamhappy:

My biggest annoyance about the game is that they use the same key for running as they do for an action key, I have been through so many doors and in so many elevators that i didn't want to go into :steamfacepalm:
It has plenty of other problems too....

I am only playing this game now, and this fight was irritating as hell until I figured something out. The first phase is easy. For the second phase, listen for the "ting ting ting" sounds. AS SOON as they start, hit counter. You need to do this twice. HOWEVER, for the second time, you CANNOT stun immediately after the first counter. You must counter THREE times, and only on the THIRD time can you do the stun. So finish the first phase, in second phase listen for the sound, do a counter and stun, then listen for the sounds, do a counter, listen, counter, listen, counter AND stun. Hope that makes sense.
For the third phase, WAIT for her to finish her jump. If there are no blue lines after she lands, DO NOTHING. If you try to counter, one of the other images will attack you. If you do nothing, nothing happens. However, if she has blue lines after landing, THEN you MUST perform a counter (three times like when she attacks three times in a row).
Hope this helps someone. I was about to throw my controller through the screen with this bloody fight.

Catwoman's sound has three parts to it. It's like three jingle bells. You have to block on the second of the three jingles. Not the first part of the sound: that's too early. Not the last part of the sound: that's too late. It's the middle part only. Also use the keyboard instead of the mouse.

The game is bad, but the second phase of the boss fight is beatable.

(later edit) I eventually got through the third phase also. There's no secret. No way to actually know what I did right. I tried to anticipate before the blue lines would appear and pressed the counter key right on the exact frame when the blue lines would appear, but I don't know whether I managed to finish by doing that or by luck. I suspect there may be a random factor to it and it may also have something to do with framerate and even screen resolution. Can't say exactly what it is that got me past it.

Believe it or not, lowering my resolution from 1440p to 1080p made it possible for me to beat the third stage of the catwoman fight immediately.

Could not do the third stage with the mouse. Bound a custom keyboard key (B). Counter was instant, beat it straight away.
