Grundy?

So if you've seen wallpaper or the trailer for this game, you know Solomon Grundy is in it. I just encountered him, and Batman's reaction upon seeing him was, "Grundy..."

WAT? This is supposed to be an origins game, and Batman seems to already know who Grundy is? Is their first meeting explained in the motion comic for iPad? Or maybe in the upcoming animated movie?

This game ruins the best thing that Batman: Arkham Origins had: the story.

That was my reaction as well! I thought his appearance in City was the first time he'd seen him in the Arkhamverse.

The hell was he even doing there in the first place? Does Blackgate accept gigantic zombies as inmates these days? Also, gotta love how he already has the wounds that were supposedly made by Ra's al ghul before the events of AC..

So, how do you take Grundy down?

Really easy, sadly. Just electrocute him a bunch and dodge when he charges. You can ignite gas from the sewers and activate electrical currents through wires with the Gel Launcher.

I was really hoping that either the DC Multiverse Motion Comic or the Black Mask secret ending would explain Grundy, but sadly, neither do. It seems there were plans for a Grundy cutscene at one point due to the Grundy wallpaper, but they were apparently cut.

All this proves is that Batman had seen (or at least heard of) him before this. The only thing City revealed was that Penguin found him under the Iceberg Lounge.

well guys, i did some research into the arkham universe after playing the game, and from what i found it seems grundy is a famous figure in gotham city... this was taken from arkhamcity.wikia:
"Pre-Arkham Incident
Cyrus Gold was a murderer who sought refuge in Slaughter Swamp. He was somehow killed and he was then found by Ra's al Ghul, who used him to experiment on, in order to perfect his Lazarus Pit. Gold ended up in a cruel cycle of being killed and then brought back to life. After being murdered so many times, Gold forgot who he was and what he did, only remembering an old nursery rhyme, after which he named himself. Now known as Solomon Grundy, he went on a rampage in Wonder City, before being killed again by the Wonder Guards. He was then brought to a place where now the Iceberg Lounge is built. He remained there until Penguin found him when he bought the nightclub."

so, since he was taken down by the wonder guards, i believe something like a video was leaked since the guards had video cameras attached to them...
