How many upgrades are there?

I am wondering - I am currently trying to do the all upgrades before level 8
so how many are there?

currently I am on:
belts lvl 33
extractors lvl 12 - max
adders lvl 30
multipliers lvl 26

the game changed to an idler - every about 10 minutes I have to change inputs (takes about 1 minute) and then idle again .....

What achievement are you trying to get exactly? The only one that mentions "level 8" is one that involves getting all upgrades to level 8, not "before" level 8. Since you're missing a few machines, you will never get that achievement until you unlock all the machines that can be upgraded.
