“Pride and joy” side quest

So I accepted this quest and found the boss I have to fight to save the daughter, but haven’t been able to beat her yet. But I noticed when I died and hit retry, my save goes entirely back to having to find the client, Mr. X, then I have to run all of the way back to where the boss is.

The first time I thought I just didn’t save recently enough, but I just redid it all and made sure to save directly before fighting the boss, but again when I retry this time I still had to go all of the way back to Mr. X this discuss the quest for some reason. And it’s just annoying because I’m at a point in the game where I can’t freely fast travel in this area anymore; is anyone else having this as well or just me? Curious to see, thanks for input.

Finish the next part of the primary quest chain, then you'll be able to freely teleport again for the side quests. Pretty big oversight on dev's part IMO.

Yeah, the problem with how they implemented Warp is that they arbitrarily disable it occasionally so you don't accidentally warp past necessary exposition. You're better off saving big side quests like "Pride and Joy" until you're at a point in the main missions where you're free to warp around Osaka.

That makes sense, I was just trying to knock out side quests once I got them but no point struggling for no reason, just seems weird for them to basically start the quest all over again like that but what can you do? Thanks for the input!
