New game crashes - load game bugged

As the title says, bought this game today while it was on sale. When I select new game it freezes, then I get the option to wait for game to respond or close it. Have tried waiting for over 10 minutes to no avail. Updated game drivers + restarted computer same issue.
Tried selecting load game for the first time and it worked, I managed to load into the game. However, the game bugged and my shop had no shelves and no check-out counter. Since I am in the tutorial I cannot buy these things, so I am softlocked.
I am currently trying to uninstall / reinstall the game to see if I can do a new load save without it being bugged.

Edit: After re-installing the game it was still crashing at new game and would still load into an empty shop. I cracked the ♥♥♥♥♥ and returned to the menu, then lowered my graphics to low, changed framerates to 60fps down from 144, and resolution from 3440x1440 to 2560x1440. Tried new game one more time and it worked?? I am assuming changed the graphics did the trick. Hope this helps for others.
