"The racks are full in storage"
So one of my two restockers decided that standing outside between the store and the storage was part of his job description. Mf stops there with a box in his hand and randomly shows the "The racks are full in storage" message while looking into the void. The other restocker keeps working hard because, obviously, the racks are in fact NOT full in storage.

I even freed an entire rack but R1 does not want to let go of his box of mozzarella (or whatever he's holding).

Exiting to the main menu and returning to the game fixes this, R1 drops the box and I can pick it up and put it on the storage shelf, but:
  1. this resets the customers and takes ages for the first one to start spending so can't really do it
  2. dude can't even finish his shift without freezing again and imagining full storage racks
  3. I still don't pay him my customers' hard-earned money to look at the traffic all day

Ending a day and moving to the next one does not unfreeze the guy ...

500 days in and unfortunately I'm encountering this issue as well now. I have found that saving and restarting the game will cause the stockers to drop the boxes and move onto others, and you can then quickly grab the boxes they were struggling with and store them yourself. Obviously this is tedious but it is the only workaround I have.

I found the fix, at least one that worked for me, and the issue for me was that all restockers were not set to 'Use Unlabelled Racks' on the computer. I enabled it and now it's fine.
