Product not found
If a product is not on the shelves and the tags have been removed as well then customers should not ding for not finding the product. In effect, how would customers know I have a product license but haven't place it on the shelves yet, for example. Plus, we may be able to specialize our store if we wanted, if customers didn't ding unless a tagged product shelf was empty.

This has been a peeve of mine since the game came out and I started playing it. We shouldnt have to have every single item in our license in the store all the time. I really dislike we get dinged for that.

Whoa! Is this why I keep getting negative points for "product not found"?! The whole reason I just bought this game was so that I could make a niche store with a focused product!
Maybe it's not too late to get a refund. I'll definitely check back though to see if this is changed in later patches.

Thanks for pointing this out!!

I'd say that rather than removing the mechanic completely, it should be something for more generalized stores. Basically, if your store has certain types of items (soda, for example), then customers will be likely to want it.

The points deducted could be weighted based on how likely you were to have that item (customers wanting toilet paper in a soda shop), and the feedback lets you know what items might be in demand.

The option to specialize could be unlocked later, or it could be a separate game mode I suppose.

There's potential for it to get incredibly complex if the dev wants it to.
