Game made $2M+ already yet still keeps using generic ugly genAI art for Steam art

With the amount of money you are making, is it about time you do some HUMAN MADE steam Capsule and Library art instead of this genAI generic crap? It makes the game seem cheap and lazy, and it's so shameful that you made $2.3M and can't be bothered to pay $200 for an artist to make some custom art.

I'm not talking about the ART IN THE GAME, I'm not talking about the game GRAPHICS oR TEXTURES.

I'm talking about the generative AI image he used in the game Steam store page (and the art you see in the game thumbnail in the library and community pages). That's generative AI art, and look ugly and generic and lazy. There are Steam capsule artists that charge 50-200 for custom art.

The game itself is beautiful and cool. And the image would be more authentic with a grab from the game instead of AI slop.

Agreeing with you on the use of AI. Solo indie dev or not, if they've sold so many copies they can afford to pay an artist to make a cover art for them. It doesn't have to be a huge budget.. there are a lot of indie devs out there who don't have the most amazing artwork for their game, but the game is still great and well loved. A couple hundred bucks would be very little to lose out on and it would draw more people in than AI.
