I'm just curious about who "you people" are...because I didn't see anything said in this thread about the list on the game's main menu, except for you. Hmmm...
That's some pretty fuzzy math, son. Aside from that, yes, time will tell. I've played many EA games, and I've seen plenty of situations similar to this. But I've never seen this amount of spaz from those that are so needy and shouldn't buy EA games in the first place. I will be here and will gladly jump into your camp if no updates occur after actual many months of real time (not exaggerations). At that point, it would be quite warranted.
Will you still defend this developer in another 6 weeks if there is still no update released? I think you would start wondering if perhaps the dev has walked away from this project. Lets be realistic here for a moment, if you are capable of that. This game started out great. There were updates every 2 weeks. This game was growing as far as player base. Then all of a sudden there has been no update for 6 weeks and counting. I can understand if the dev decided to go on a vacation or holiday or just relax for a short time, but there is not even a peep from him on the Steam forums. It is only common courtesy to leave a little note at least saying something like "I need a small break. I will continue on the game in a few weeks". That is the least the dev can do. Some of you say he is still active on Discord. That means nothing when the game and his player base is on Steam. The dev needs to go where his player base is, especially if he wants to take a break for whatever reason. By the dev remaining silent on Steam, that shows and tells me the dev doesnt give a crap about his player base. If the dev is looking to create a small dev team, what better place to advertise for on on these Steam forums where people are. Im sure if the Dev would write something on these forums like "Looking for game developers. Contact me at <some social media site or address>," Im sure he would get many responses. There are some smart people on these forums. Take modders for example. Modders have added so much to the game and they are not even game developers. Im sure the modders would be happy if the dev added their code into the base game. This goes back to the point I made earlier that I dont think the dev cares anymore about the game. I know it has only been 6 weeks since the last update, but I honestly think that the dev walked away from this project. I can think of a couple possible reasons for that too. 1) His Discord moderators have trigger fingers and are easy to ban and boot people, and 2) The dev didnt like that modders took over his game. Im sure the modders were just trying to help. I dont mod but I have a load of respect for anyone that does mod. Anyway, I will give the dev another 6 weeks before I uninstall this game and move on to something else. If there is no reply or peep from the dev in 12 weeks total, I will know without a shadow of a doubt the dev has walked away from this unfinished project.
After an additional 6 weeks?! Absolutely, I would definitely take a turn away from supporting the process of this dev if that were to happen. It would be a sad thing, but yes. Over three months of no progress in this situation would definitely be problematic in my opinion.
developed by SCS Software - 320 employees
Release 1.49 - December 2023
Release 1.50 - May 2024
Project Zomboid (Early Access)
developed by The Indie Stone - 10 employees
Build 40 - October 2018
Build 41 - December 2021
Build 42 - sometime in 2024 (TBD)
Can you all go over to those forums and post every day demanding an update release?
I don't completely disagree with you, but these two are terrible examples...
ATS is not in early access and these "releases" seem to be DLCs, extra content. The game is 8 years old by now.
Project Zomboid is being developed for 10+ years, at this point the game is so complex and refined that it makes sense for long waits.
This game is nothing like that, quite the opposite, has various fixes that could be done in less than 2 months. In the store page, there is a "new game coming" from this guy, which okay, it says it's being developed by a different "company", but he's getting in an awkward position that makes me think he does not deserve this "0 doubt" approach.
I've played for a while and my save file got a glitch that crashes my game every time the day ends. I didn't want to start from the beginning... With the risk of happening again. I was just waiting for an update... and nothing. Got a refund.
