can we get a PDA or handheld scanner
so instead of having to memorize 500 different items to purchase on the computer we can just go to the shelf, scan the shelf and it well auto order what is out of stock.

also a way to lock shelves. so i can't accidentally place the wrong item on a shelf i didn't mean to. so if i set a shelf to only milk i can only put that specific milk item on it.

If you don't mind using mods, there are some that do exactly what you want on nexus mods:

https://www.nexusmods.com/supermarketsimulator/mods/34

https://www.nexusmods.com/supermarketsimulator/mods/24

Note that I'm not sure if they're still working with newer game version. Anyway there's no recent posts reporting any issue.

i wouldn't mind trying out mods but from what i see on the steam board is a lot of people complaining about issues because of the recent update? idk.

It's due to some mods, not all of them. When a game newer version changes something that a certain mods uses or affects, this certais mods conflicts with the altered feature or function. If you already have BepInEx, just try them to check if they'll work. If any issue occurs, just uninstall them. They should not affect any part of the game.
I love this idea. I don't necessarily want to use a mod because it'll probably break in updates, but this is an awesome thought.

Since our computer knows whats been bought and our checkouts should know what's been sold, a proper system should auto order.
